according to your reasoning the following statments are all referring to the same day.
On Monday I'm going to the park
This Monday I'm going to the park
Next Monday I'm going to the park.
can anyone explain the difference to me please??

Let's say that [xxx] can stand for any day of the week.
The words, "On [xxx]" and "This [xxx]" refer to the next instance when that day will occurr.
The word "Next [xxx]" refers to the next week the day being referred to will fall on.
Since Monday is also the start of a new week, all three phrases apply.
