Has anyone ever used this stuff? I finally cracked open my brand new bottle of it yesterday, day 17 of my detox. I read it was good for detoxing so I got a bottle before I started but I also read it can give you "coffee jitters" and I didnt want to end up feeling worse than I was already feeling so I have avoided it.

Yesterday however, I woke up with a list of things I really needed and wanted to do but getting up off the couch took a ridiculous amount of energy so I took 1 500mg cap of L-tyrosine and 1 B-Stress complex vitamin and holy shit. I actually felt human for the first time since this detox has started, and I even took lortabs for a few days and I can say I felt better yesterday than the days I took tabs.

It gave me a natural surge of energy and it just made me feel... HAPPY. It helps produce dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain and I could definitely feel a difference in my mood. It seriously felt like a miracle, best day of my detox thus far. I was able to get up and clean my 2 year olds room, do all the laundry, vacuum the whole house and a bunch of other stuff that I've been unable to even think about doing while detoxing.

I HIGHLY recommend this stuff to anyone detoxing. I wish I would have tried it sooner.

(sorry if this is in the wrong forum!)

Unfortunately is this an old posting...
But that really sounds good. I read a lot about amino acids that are said to help during withdrawal. But acutally I always read the same. And I always read the advice to take some amino acids but I never found a clinical study that said that a special amino acid could help. And I never found experience reports. This is the first postings I read where somebody really tried one of those amino acids.
Unfortunately nobody answered on this posting here. I would like to read some other experiences.
I think, I will try it by myself. I have to do a withdrawal in the next month. I will post my experience.

If you still look sometimes into this topic:
day 17 of my detox
Detox from what? What opiate did you use? If it was heroin withdrawal, then you should be already done after 17 days. This would mean, L-tyrosine helped with PAWS?
But when you detoxed from e.g. methadone, it could be possible that you still were in real withdrawal.
I'd like to have more information how you felt at this time of withdrawal and in what way L-tyrosine really helped.
Did it help with physical withdrawal symptoms?
It gave you more power. Mentally or physically or both?
How long did you take it? What much did you take? Did it helped with reducing craving for an opiate?
Can you write a little bit more about this experience?

Has anybody else took this stuff during withdrawal? Did it help, too?
I really thought that L-tyrosine would probably work not better than a placebo.

I honestly found piracetam to be more useful with cold turkey w/d, but I had been taking it for a little over a month before I went into w/d.

And yes, lortab is an opioid (hydrocodone 10mg)...

You ought to try this combo pack I found at the grocery store the other day,

They had a variety of them, and inside was L-Tyrosine combined with proteins, complex sugars, a shitload of vitamins, fiber, carbs and all this other great stuff. The best part was it was even cheaper than the bottles of L-Tyrosine supplements, and the other supplements too. I'm kicking myself right now cause I can't remember the fucking name.... sorry

Oh wait I remember - they called it FOOD.

L-Tyrosine is very good for opiate w/d.. Its best to take in the morning b/c it will give you a natural energy and make you feel a little nicer... Also L-Glutamine and L-Theanine with a vitamine b-6 and b-12 supplement can be helpful.... Kava, chamomoile and lavender tea are also nice during w/ds.... theres much more but those are the 'legal' supplements and such you can use while getting off opiates....

I hear L-Tyrosine is good for stimulant w/ds also

anyone else got any advice or experiences using L-tyrosine or any other amino acids talked about above?? My friend that detoxed off suboxone after using it for a good 4 years. And he read online like alll of us about that "Thomas Receipe" for opiate detox & he basically just added some other things to it and I added on to what he told me worked for him and i know for a fact 100% he isn't on Subs or opies right now and has been clean for a good 6months and just did it all by himself alone at home.... besides the supplements he used and vitamins he only used maybe 6-8 xanax bars for the first week of withdrawal (for sleep, not abuse) and maybe 4-5 kolonopins the 2nd week while taking his supplement detox mix of vitamins/minerals/amino-acids that he swears by, says the supplements like l-tyrosine, l-glutamine, L-Theanine (SunTheanine), vitamin B complex, magnesium, some kind of potassium supplement plus a few more I can't remember but I def am getting off subs at the moment and am using all the supplements and amino acids right now and it seems to be helping...
P.S. -i take .025mg buprenorphine every other day at ridiculous low amounts and am jumping the proverbial ship in about 3-4 days and have basically been weening down the past 2 months to the lowest possible dose i could get to with extending time b/w doses until i start feel crappy (which my friend said, "dude your just torturing yourself being on such low doses and waiting so long b/w dosing") but i wanted to get as low as possible and get my supplements and exercise in b/4 i step off the "sub-train" and hopefully it wont be going too fast where it hurts ;-)

Funny you mention it, I take L-tyrosine daily. I heard of it it while researching stuff to help with detox when I quit oxycontin and bought a bottle of it. But I was too busy feeling like crap and just being miserable to really take it. I haven't been physically dependent on anything since April 1st and I actually have been almost entirely clean, but I've just had a lot of problems with energy levels. I feel like a slug, I move in slow motion and I feel half asleep. A multivitamin with lots of B vitamins as well as L-Tyrosine REALLY helps. Plus I chase it down with coffee, hehe.

Healthy food, exercise, proper sleep, and the other vitamins I take were a huge factor in why I feel better I'm sure. But I think the L-Tyrosine was that extra push I needed. I was about to go back on opiates again because I was literally unable to do anything with my life when I tried it.
