Pardon me if I'm wrong, but isn't English your first language? Regardless, the pedantry is very important here, and I'm going to engage in more of it because it matters a lot when handling stereotypes.Perhaps it's simply a language barrier graced with pedantry?
You cited Scientism here as if to imply that scientists are necessarily followers of Scientism. Yes, many scientists to embrace Scientism, but a great many do not. I have studied in academia, and there I have encountered quite a diverse set of people who practice science and are therefore scientists. Some of them were deeply religious even and absolutely held mystical beliefs rooted in their religions. Practicing science does not equate to believing in Scientism. Absolutely no way!
Lol, the world is a lot bigger than you seem to realize. Is bluelight an academic resource? Or are we all "indigenous herbalist types" here?Indigenous cultures tend to hold knowledge of things which academia remains ignorant. Whether I use the term molecular biochemist or academic, this refers to followers of modern science. These followers will tend to defend their belief system.
