Opioids Kratom shelf life?

A friend of mine recently cleaned up his place a bit and came across 4x10g baggies of kratom. He went through a brief period of taking it a bit before deciding the side effects (stomach issues) he got from it weren't worth it. Seeing as he knew I frequently indulge in a bit of kratom he gave them to me. I seem to recall having read somewhere that kratom does not keep its potency very long and should be used fresh. This kratom is estimated to be about 2 years old. Is it worth trying to ingest this or is it for the bin? The bags are sealed and haven't been opened at all if that would make a difference...

If it were stored in a cool, dry place there shouldn't be any harm from taking it.

Yep. I imagine most of the 7-ohm would downgrade meaning you would get less of the opiate-like effects. But you should still get some stimulant effects. Worst case scenario you drink a cup of tea that doesn't get you high. It ain't gonna hurt you. My guess is you will just need twice as much and the effect will be milder. Good luck and let us know how it goes! I have had kratom for LONG periods of time stored in jars. Worked out just fine.

Yeah sounds about right! I took 5 grams from one of the bags today. It feels less potent than my fresh kratom, but there was no increase in unpleasant effects or anything. All good!
