Kratom.... great first experience

Hey so I'm not sure how many of you have heard of this drug, but it is a legal plant which has effects similar to that of opium. If you do not know about it at all, here is the erowid link to it: http://www.erowid.org/plants/kratom/kratom.shtml . So I get shipped in the mail to me what is supposed to be "6.1g of kratom premium powdered leaf. The powdered leaf is made for those who do not want to deal with making tea out of 25g's or so of actual leaves like most ppl need to do the drug.

The bag that i got in the mail was a brown powder. the isntructioins are to mix it in any drink. While i orderd 6g, and for whatever reason the bag said 6.1g, when i weighed it out with my scale i only had 5.3g of it. Whatever though. With the powdered leaf, one is supposed to take 5-6g to get a opiate like effect. I dumped all of it into a cup of water... boy did it look awful. It looked like i was about to drink mud. It did not taste THAT bad but it took me a while to drink it. I had a relativly empty stomach as i had eaten dinner 3 hours before. The comeup to kratom was slow but not bad at all. 30 minutes after ingestion of the liquid I was peaking. While I have never smoked opium before, I have taken hydrocodone/oxycodone. The best way to describe the feeling of 5.3 g of kratom is it pretty much feels like 10mg of hydrocodone, but in a more dreamy relaxed state.

It is not a intense high, but rather a very peaceful and mellow euphoria. I am fully content with the feeling. It does not feel totally like opiates but it greatly resembles it. I am currently still on the drug, having ingested it 5 hours ago and it is still going strong. Noticable aspects of it are constricted pupils just like with opiates. I also smoked some Salvia 5x while on the drug and while i did not have a breakthrough trip (did not intend too), found that the kratom really mellowed out the non breakthrough salvia experience (goofyness, not really knowing left from right)....

Another great thing about kratom is that it is not habit forming and supposivly there are no withdrawl simptoms even with heavy usage. I am sure that i will try this drug again... maybe with 7 or 8 grams of powdered leaf to try and get a stronger high (even though i am fully content with how i feel now).... i think that smoking weed while on this drug would be great but i do not have any on me now to testify to that..... i know that i loved smoking bowls while on percs though....

overall i definetly recommend kratom to ppl who just want to chill out. The drug is pretty much the same thing as opiates..... just like with hyrdocodone/oxycodone it also made me more sociable.... throughout my time on it i pretty much just chilled in my dorm talking to ppl and meeting new people as well. it was a great time and i am really glad with the purchase i made.

I don't think it's entirely accurate to claim that it's non-habit forming. I clicked your Erowid link above and the very first link I went into says:

From "Kratom: What Is It?" by Murple:
Some studies have found no addiction problems in villagers using kratom, while others apparently have. It seems likely that if used in doses high enough for mu receptor crossover (discussed below), addiction is a strong possibility."
Nonetheless, I am interested in this plant, and it's nice to read such a well-written report about it! :)

I'd be interested to know more about the overdose potential of this drug. I took a tea made from 6g of the resin and noticed a definate depression of normal breathing. Would taking to much result in lose of breathing and death?

I would have to agree that this is a nice drug. I experienced a few hours of gental euphoria from my 6g's, followed by a deep and dreamless sleep.

Very much incorrect.

What about nausia during the experience, any kind of body load or mood swings, chances for the experience turning bad...etc?

Hm i must have been misimformed about the adictiveness of the drug... well i am pretty sure its not as addicting as opiates are....

now that it has been the next day since i did the drug, i guess i can fully comment on it. I experienced zero nausia during the whole entire experience. I was walking around the whole time as well.... i even skateboarded for 15 mins with some friends while on it. I was pretty much content at all times during the experience, no real mood swings. I was happy with who i was and i was loving the dreamyness of the moment. Today I experienced zero negative effects. No hangover at all. I got a good 9 hours of sleep and woke up feeling a little sleepy but nothing much. I had a lot of school work to do today as well and was able to fully focus and concentrate on that (had 5 hours of work which i did with no trouble) without even the aid of caffeine.

Once again I had a wonderful experience with the drug and will probably do it again in a month or so. I wouldnt want to be feeling like this every day because it definetly could get in the way of any responsibilities that one might have but so do many drugs. This is a drug that can definetly be used in moderation for some wonderful times.

I got 54g of it myself (I ordered 25g, and because it wasn't shipped on SATURDAY, I got 25 MORE, and then 4g just because.) My woman triple-boiled it down, and we extracted the hell out of that mixture.

We ended up having an approximate mixture of .25 cups of liquid being equal to 5g of Kratom. We ended up drinking .5 cups each, and then split the rest in 1/3 about an hour after we drank it down. It didn't taste THAT bad, but it was still pretty bad (to my woman).

I've never done opiates, but we got the "opiate" itch pretty bad. I felt extremely sedated, and my eyelids kept wanting to shut, but not to sleep -- to perhaps, just sit there and be aware, dream of things. A daydream, perhaps.

My muscles felt so relaxed. I didnt' want to lift them. We sat on the couch and chilled. My normal anxiety disappeared, and I felt euphoric. It was mostly just a sedated mood. The effects lasted approximately 6 hours, and I went to sleep after that with no problems. I had NO body load whatsoever, and the only mental load would possible be that you don't WANT to think about anything. You just want to be...

I'd strongly recommend this stuff. :)
