Okay I really don't know how long my ankles have been swollen but I just noticed it while taking kratom.......Does anybody here gone thru or know about how to reduce this if it is this.....I enjoy kratom way too much I mean there has to be a harm reduction if this is the reason for it.....Like take long breaks and when dosing doing it once instead of reupping/

OK so I went over my gf and didn't take any kratom since Thursday and I have had the edema go down a lot. So my conclusion is that for me it causes edema and that's not a good sign.

I never heard of Kratom causing edema but if you really think kratom is linked to it, I would suggest to stop using it slowly depending on how often you take it, it may cause mild opioid withdrawal. Then when you stop if you still have sign of edema, you should consult a doctor.

Honestly last tuesday and wed I took a hefty dose of gabapentin and that could be the result of the pitted edema......I'm not so sure about the kratom......I haven't abused anymore gabapentin since last wed......I'm just hoping it's not the kratom since I like it so much.

It's the gabapentin. I've been on hefty doses of gabapentin (5g or more daily) for a while now, and have noticed significant water retention. I stopped suddenly last week and it was a rough week, let me tell you. I also take kratom; however, even since just last week, I have noticed some of my water retention is gone already, in my neck, my feet, just everywhere. I got a refill of gabapentin today and, despite my vow of never again, the cravings were strong so I took 1.4g. Didn't seem to do much, but from past experience I have noticed 2g is really the barrier before I got much benefit from it. I'm vowing not to take it daily anymore, though, especially when I read that it's theorized that gabapentin may prevent new brain synapses from forming at all, and may interfere with new memory production, among other bad effects. I didn't realize people were having seizures from suddenly stopping high doses like I did, so I feel a little lucky.
