Hello all. I'm a Korean born Korean-American, currently living here in the motherland. I spent 99% of my life abroad, in Cali/SF Bay Area specifically and I'm back here to accomplish a relatively limited number of goals, first being to relearn what was basically my first, fluent language (korean) and to save some money before heading back to the states. I'd rather be unspecific about my job but if anyone here knows anything about the country and the reason for its relative popularity to foreign english speakers, you can figure it out.
Anyhow, I'm a longtime toker, obvious if you know the SF Bay area at all, and partaker of a number of other things. Somewhat of a lifelong connoisseur of the illicitly recreational for various reasons, primarily spiritual/artistic. I feel fairly isolated here since this is a country of drink and ciggs, the essential and basically only socially acceptable forms of letting off the steam. I don't get any sort of inspiration from alcohol, I have a rather checkered relationship towards it so here I am, a longtime lurker and fan of BL, now a first time member.
I'm hoping to not only chat, maintain some connection towards like-minded folk but hopefully do some networking with fellow expats or even other Koreans here on the forums.
So if you too are here in Korea or or planning on heading here soon, feel free to shoot me a message or reply here. Definitely want to get in touch with some like minded people and try and network as much as possible in that regard. One needs to hold their tongue when speaking in public at the bars here, especially about one's past or current proclivities, to other foreigners/expats/K-americans.
