ok i know that, unfortunately, it may be too late to heed this advice now but if that is so, it is never too late to stop but I would like to give some advice to anyone who is currently using at an "acceptable level" (i.e. occasional use):

know when to stop.

I have used quite a few drugs in the past and in the beginning i saw no harm in my level of use, i used MDMA once a month and weed every now and again and coke and speed but drank every weekend, now i never "abused" drugs, it never went that far but I spotted the signs that my use was heading in a bad direction:

Like i said, I was not a heavy user and it was fun and pretty harmless but i realised that slowly, we were mentioning drugs more and more until it became a topic of discussion every time me and my mates went out and one thing led to another, we had to have some kind of drug, legal or illegal to have a good time, in the beginning it started as: "MDMA would make tonight even better", then it became: "MDMA is vital tonight otherwise there is no point in going out".

That is when i knew this was heading in a bad direction and i mentioned it to my mates who all reflected and agreed with me, drugs were no longer an "extra" which made the night that bit better they were essential to have to make the night good, so we stopped, it was hard, drugs were on my mind all the time when we were out but I didn't need them to have a good time, we started going out sober and not only did I save A LOT of money, we still had fun.

I managed to stop use becoming abuse and I beg of people here to realise that when drugs are vital to a good time, you need to stop, otherwise they will slowly but surely control you.

And for those here who have already overstepped the line, I wish you the best of luck at getting clean and know that you are all loved, we are human, we are all one, you CAN do it, you may fail once you may fail a lot of times but in the end, when we eventually succeed, the failures, no matter how many, no longer matter it is only the success which really counts <3

stay safe

Citizen :)

p.s not sure if this is the right forum, please move if it isn't

thanks for the advice, im glad you were able to realize that drugs shouldnt be the topic of your night.

unfortunately this has already happened to me :/ and im still in highschool. i understand that drugs are cool and fun but honestly i find it pathetic how that the only thing my friends can talk about.

This is some really great advice. I thankfully haven't overstepped the line, but I have been fiending lately - thinking I need an outside substance to help me have a good time/entertain me. Next time I feel the need to try something, I'll step back and think about your advice first to make sure I'm not risking abuse.

And for skrillex, maybe just be honest with your friends. Tell them, "Hey, guys, I realized that we talk about drugs a lot. What happened to the days when we could have fun without them? Maybe we should be more careful..." or something like that. Maybe they haven't realized the frequency that y'all have been using them and will agree with you. If they don't respond positively, however, it maybe be important for you to find new friends to protect yourself who won't further tempt you to abuse since you have realized the risks at hand.

Drugs are fun, and seem to be the fast track to happiness without accomplishing a damn thing.

It's unfortunate that I'd rather do nothing all day and be high then to have a job, money to do things with, nicer car etc.

About to stop my drug use soon and do shit the way it should be done.

Its never too late to quit..............unless you've been smoking meth for 10+ years- then its probably best to NOT come down lol.
