I was at my docs and he was telling me that it has been studied and proven that clonazapam at lower doses, such as .25 helps with anxitey more then if you take a high dose such as 1mg...dose anyone know if this is true? The only other drug...or i should say supplement that is more effective at a lower dose is melatonin, but as far as klonopin goes ive never heard some one say that to me....could it be my doc is fucking with my head trying to get me to accept taking a lower dose? Thanks for any responses!

Ever heard of reverse psychology?
or:
in this case...reverse pharmacology? ;)

Nope, never heard such a thing..
but that doesn't make it untrue..

now I'm curious too....

Well, it works in the sense that if you have a lower dependency you won't be heavily sedated all day, less cognitive impairments, and you feel the tail end of the anxiolytic and muscle relaxant effects it gives. IMO (I'm prescribed 3mg/day Clonaz) it is more effective in lower doses when you are taking it because of the long lasting effects. For some reason they are a little bit more pronounced to me at 1mg compared to 2mg-3mg (I don't dose below 1mg very often) maybe because of the potency of it and how it hits the user? I'm not sure but that's how it has worked for me. I take LESS Clonazepam than I am prescribed and have had success, and I'll keep my script at the same amount because it gives me a surplus for those few days I'm waiting for my next script. (Like today.)

When I get my fill I'll start out I think at .75-1 and not redose until the following day.

I think that with most drugs with long half-lives less may be more. If you are taking more then your body always has some of the drug in it, so this increases tolerance and doesn't produce enough of a change to bring out the effects of the drug.

I tapered down Valium from 10mg/day to 2mg/day and other than the 2-3 day transition period, I got the same effects from the 10mg dose as I did from the 2mg dose. The only exception would be if I took a break and popped 10mg I would feel it a lot more than 2mg, but as far as regular daily use goes the seem the same.

I think that lower doses can be just as, if not more effective than higher doses because with lower doses a lot more of the drug is out of your system when you redose, so you are going from almost no drugs in you to the small dose, which you may feel more than if you took higher doses so had a decent amount in you still when you redosed, which wouldn't bring much of a change when you dosed more.

I used to take 3 2mg klonopins sublingually a day for quite some time, and it worked well for me. I think he's trying ro induce a placebo on you.
