Klonopin and Vicodin

Just recently got prescribed Klonopin 0.5 twice a day. I was just wondering if I'm want to take Vicodin later in the day, is it ok to just stop taking the Klonopin in the evening so that I'm not mixing them?

I read about the half-life being somewhere between 20-30 hours, so does this mean that I need to wait this long before taking the Vicodin? Like maybe skip out on the Klonopin that entire day if i'm gonna take Vicodin later on?

I've read about people mixing benzos and opiates, but I'm not too interested in doing that. Thanks :D

I have stopped taking klonopin for a night to enjoy vicodin and was fine. I have been on it klonopin for years. I would wait til you get used to the klonopin more to mix them anyways. Good luck!

Alright thanks. Is there a certain time I should wait in between taking the two? Or is it basically alright as long as I'm not taking one right after another?

Be careful, Klonopin has a long half-life (more than 24 hours).

they are working so long you have to wait a day minimun so if you dont take any at all tomorrow then i would say saturday you can do it without any problems i think :)

but as the poster above said be carefull! and maybe start out somewhat lower then you would otherwice

when people "mix" benzos and opiates, they take them simultaneously (or close to it) to experience the highs of both at the same time. If you take klonopin in the day and vicodin at night (say 8 hours apart), you won't be mixing them, since the effects of the klonopin will have long since worn off.

HOWEVER, you should still take a bit of caution with the dose. Personally I would take 70% of your typical vicodin dose. I think at 70% you have no risk of any adverse effects

People mix opiates and benzos plenty. Half life doesn't matter, it's how long the effects last when you're mixing it. If you want to take your full vicodin dose and don't want to take .5mg of klonopin on top of that (I needed 1.5mg of the stuff at least when I first started taking it to notice any type of buzz though) just take your 1st dose, skip your second and taking the vicodin should take care of the medical uses as well.

Thanks for all the advice. So some people are telling me to wait out the half life, while others say as long as I'm not feeling the klonopin (8 hours +) then I'm fine?

Also, I just recently started taking klonopin, so I'm wondering once I start taking it for a while, will I be fine to just skip a dose for the whole day if I decide to take Vics? Or am I going to be feeling funky if I just suddenly stop taking them?

I know this is a pretty low dose, but I just want to be safe. Thanks!
