Hello đź‘‹

First time poster, lurker for a while. I'm prescribed klonopin 0.5 mg as needed. I take it once a week to once every 2 weeks. Been off and on like that for last year. I usually take it on a weekend to make sure i get at least one good night of sleep. Recently got prescribed lunesta 1 mg since it's safety and dependency profile seems somewhat better.id like to go away from the klonopin and go to lunesta instead. Haven't taken it yet, have a fear of taking new medications. If by some chance I take the lunesta and it makes me feel panicky, would it be OK if I were to take the klonopin to "snap me out of it". I understand lunesta generally is sedating but i just want to know if thats an option if needed. Thank you!

I take klonopin and zopiclone which is just another version of lunesta thats in Canada. Eszopiclone is lunesta. Lunesta will likely not make you panic as it is rather good at stopping panic attacks itself. It's pretty sedating if you arent used to it. It's a z drug so its like a benzo but not quite

If you are keeping the dosages within reason you shouldn't have any problems. The biggest issue I could see you running into would be blacking out. This is a well-known side effect of Benzodiazepines and Z-Drugs especially. The problem is that you lose control of your decision-making abilities and people have been known to get in their cars and drive among other potentially dangerous activities.

This shouldn't be a huge problem. It's something you always have to think of though. I would always recommend laying down and actually getting ready for sleep when you take this medication. Otherwise, there is nothing inherently dangerous about taking a dose of Clonazepam (Klonopin) along with a dose of Eszopiclone (Lunesta).

Try eszopiclone and if u will sleep good, than use it instead of clonazepam.
Clonazepam is much longer lasting and less sleep-inducing.
Zopiclone/Eszopiclone was like short acting benzo but not as good for anxiety as alprazolam but perfect for sleeping.
