Kids getting high and hooked on prescription drugs

You'd think the LA Times would be able to write an article with more than 2 mistakes as well as this being complete 1 sided horse shit. I see BS like this everytime I read the newspaper or watch TV, no use preaching to the choir.

dreaming with dope.. its called nodding out

i got a big kick outa that, thank u for makin me laugh, hahaha

"Nationally, an estimated 14 percent of high-school seniors have used prescription drugs for nonmedical reasons at least once in their lifetime"

I'm a statistic!? Never thought it would happen

only 14 percent? shit, almost all of my school has atleast popped some percs.

^^^ Huge increase ey, I'd say it is the result of a growing ageing population in developed nations and the prescription medicine requirements of these geriatrics, rather than a growing culture of prescription drug recreational use and abuse.

US doctors seem to dish out those prescriptions like boiled candies (I could be wrong so if any US citizens disagree, don't cut me down too harshly)..... The relevant government healthcare bodies probably don't give too much of a shit about implementing awareness campaigns and educating medical practitioners given that (most) medicines aren't subsidised by the government over there, and so the financial burden is entirely on the patient.

But if abuse becomes a widespread and significant problem, media sensationalism like the above article, and ensuing public hysteria, ought to kick some vote-hungry politicians into action - I hope the usual 'war on drugs' strategy isn't applied to this problem though,
e.g. every US pharmacy must employ at least one fully armed DEA agent..... 8(

Aight......i got a question.....
HOW THE FUCK DID HE FEEL "AMAZING" from
one
goddamn
vicodin?
8o

yea i know one vic dont get me off cuz i got tolerance, but it never did even before i did dope, oxy, etc. on the real,15 mgs of that shit is like taking a quarter of a e pill. that kids got it twisted 8(

This article is also sad because heron was never a ''problem'' until it came into the nice little midle upper class homes and THEN it became the big problem of the 90's.

the whole time talking about the drug fads with kids these days, bla bla, how dope was the epidemic (oh yea, small print, *when it hit the upper class.*) talkin about it like "we all know about that heroin problem we had in the 90's" like thats when it started and thats the only peeps it hurt.

yea but before that all the whole time there was kids dying, 13 14 year olds doin the shit everyday. and there still is. but they werent "OUR CHILDREN" were they. those kids were nothin but the endless offspring of the lower class, right? turn your head and look away. now its in Suburbia USA and ''our children are dying'' and they must put a stop to this scourge.

WHY
