Opioids Kicking heroin and need help getting the most out of the few dilaudid I have left..

I need some help guys. I've been shooting heroin for about 2 weeks (gram or more per day). I've got about 7 (2mg) dilaudids and 5 (15mg) Morphine Sulfate SR's.

Could an experienced opiate user/detoxer please help me out with a game plan to kick? My main question is whether or not to IV the pills or not as I am under the impression that I would get the most out of the pills that way. Morphine may be tricky, but I understand that dilaudids are good for IVing. I am just curious as to whether IVing them would be the best way to kick or not. I am willing to do ANY R.O.A. just to maximize what I have left...

It'll be tough to quit a habit using full agonists like Captain.Heroin said, and it'll be even harder if you IV the drugs. Unfortunately, both dilaudid and morphine suck in most ROA other than IV for getting high. However, in your case, I'd not IV...you won't get high off the pills but you also won't go into full w/d.

I'd personally eat/plug the morphine and snort/plug the dilaudid if you're trying to come off of 'em. Like I said, this isn't to get high, but rather a means to give your body that exogenous source of opiates it needs to curb w/d. Start with higher doses and taper down. IVing as a means to come clean doesn't seem like it'll work unless one has extreme willpower, but I have no personal experience with this
 
It sounds to me like you're lying to yourself- you have no intention of quitting, you're simply trying to 'take a break' so your tolerance goes down and you won't need to band a g a day to feel good.

If you actually want to quit then you NEED to taper down- jumping off a g a day (even if you're getting complete shit and only taking 100-200mg of heroin a day) is just a way for you to justify your failure to yourself as you continue to use. The withdrawal are going to be UNBEARABLE, even after you've ripped through you're entire stash in a couple of days.

My advice to you is to trade the hydros for more morphine. Stop buying heroin and start trying to get your hands on as much pharm morphine as possible- migh mg SR pills is what you want. Then you need to start tapering down with the morphine ORALLY. I'm sorry, but IV'ing hydromorphone during withdrawals is not 'getting through your withdrawals' it is prolonging it and you're keeping the whole IV 'ritual-reward' bullshit.

I don't mean to sound like an ass, but your post seems either horribly naive or insincere. If you plan on taking opiates while 'withdrawing' you're not withdrawing, your just taking a dose that isn't high enough to ward off your sickness i.e. tapering. If you actually want to get off the junk then you're gonna have to taper down and oral morphine is a pretty good (and often cheap) way of maintaining/tapering down your addiction outside of the whole 'opiate replacement system'. As I said, if you can get together enough SR morphine to taper down to (which will be fucking brutal in and of itself) around 30mg morphine/day (i.e. back down to low clinical doses) you'll have no problem going cold turkey. Get some lope, benzos, and NSAIDs and it'll be managable.


And if oral morphine is unacceptable to you due to low bioavailablity, shove it up your ass. Seriously, grind teh pill up, put it into a solution and squirt that motherfucker up your ass. Works fine, nest best thing to IV. IME you can't quit IV junk unless you quit IV drugs all together.

Other than that I'll put a grand on the OP being back shooting 1g+ a day as soon as he is in a financial/social position to do so. I'm sorry but "I wanna get off junk" and "How how much of this hydromorphone pill do you reckon I should bang?" is rarely are used sincerely in the same sentence.

I agree. IVing does not last long enough so only keeps the sick away for a short amount of time compared to the other ROAs.
 
IV dilaudid won't last long enough although you would be using lower dosages, so I can see CH's logic.

You should take advantage of the time released morphine, and pop them as is. try and save the dilaudid for when you're all out of morphine.
 
Um if you've only been shooting up for 2 wks I think just going 'cold turkey' would be fine... I mean 2 weeks? Try kicking after 2 yrs then make a game plan for detoxing. Not trying to be rude but after 2 wks I think you shouldnt have many problems.
 
you've only been using 2 weeks and are using a gram+ a day? either you have a previous tolerance or you are getting shit dope.

only pills i have to eat are for bipolar disorder, im not a pain patient. if that's what you're referring to.

Regardless of what level of dependency someone has or the drug they use, the phrase 'don't be a pussy' is belittling.

Honestly you almost had good advice but instead you say it like a total jerk.

I agree if the OP can get more time released morphine, it would help much more than dilaudid.
