Hello all,
I was very interested in what ya'll think about this. I take 10-30 mgs every day of hydrocodne. I have been doing this for 8 months now and and in the back of my mind i am always worried about being hooked on it. I had a 3 year meth habit and now been clean for years know. I know i have a addictive trait however i have found that these pills keep me up at night when i need to be. I work the third shift. I have been reading all kinds of stuff on here and to be honest i really would hate to go though withdrawls. can anyone plz share with me this..How long is to long for taking hc pills...Many thanks

i'd say anything everyday for over a month and you're addicted. idk how your tolerance has stayed so low over such a period so i feel like i' missing something?

this dont belong in drug culture, not that we dont care but there is a forum for ppl dealing with questions like urs called the dark side. Ima move this to there.

I do want to say though that when you start using any drug everyday for a few weeks, a month, a few months, a addiction is most likely developin even if u dont think so...BUT....the fact that ur tolerance is incredibly low means that kicking or detoxing would seriously be a piece of cake. if u worried now then get out while u can while u still only taking tiny amounts of hydro. not tryna minimize ur situation but of all opioids to be dependent on , hydro is one of the weakest ones, and u will have prob. the easiest time gettin off it than any other choice such as morphine, oxy, heroin, fentanyl, or any of the other stronger pharms. good luck but they will help u deal with this question in TDS where it belongs. :)

I hate to say this but as long as your off meth stay on the hydro forever if it keeps you off it.

In terms of brain damage, and the irreversible havoc meth wreaks on your brain, hydro will keep you sane MUCH LONGER. I know there are hydro addicts here who think they're going crazy right now. But I'll tell you as a former chemist, and kicker of meth myself (8-9 years off it now), opiates will do NOTHING to your brain like speed does.
A lot of people never fully come back from speed and suffer lifelong paranoia and hallucinations from the brain damage. It wasn't till last year I actually felt I had recovered fully from what meth did to my brain.
Opiates are a powerful drug no doubt, and will put you in a world of pain when you stop. But doing meth is like voluntarily welcoming paranoid schizophrenia into your life. And it can last for years and years after you stop (its properly coined "meth psychosis").
Id def recommend you stop doing all drugs, which I'm in the process of now myself.

But WHATEVER YOU DO. NEVER EVER EVER go back to meth.

In reality, taking any medication longer than what you actually need it for is too long. I'm very surprised you haven't switched to Oxycodone. As the above posters have stated, hydrocodone is one of the easiest opiates to withdrawl from. If you are serious about quitting, I would begin to lower your dosage, until at the very end of your taper you'd be taking 1mg or less. This will make jumping off to nothing easier than no taper and cold turkey. Good luck.

10-30 mg of hydro is no worse than smoking a couple bowls a day. I wouldn't worry about it unless its affecting you in other negative ways. It would be great to be drug free but if this is stopping you from relapsing I'd keep to it.

Thank you all. I wrote this under my co workers log in becasue i was not sure about joining. HOWEVER i have to say this site is great and informative..Your advice is appreciatied...And i have now join..
