ketamine neurological affects related to thoughts?

Hello!

I have a friend that believes ketamine to have lasting neurological affects, as in that ketamine is a little bit damaging to the brain. He has this strange fear that the neurological damage is related to what his brain does/thinks. He finds himself scared to think about certain things in fear that they may be dissociated or something. 8o

In particular.. said friend makes games harder by being under the influence of various variables and was playing a card game Set (4 properties of each card, color, number, shape, shade- every combination of cards.. say 2 half-shaded purple diamonds.. and you find a "set" which is 3 cards and for each property, all cards are either different or the same [1,1,1] or [1,2,3] or [purple, purple, purple] or [purple,red,green].. but for all 4 aspects)

We got to talking about if it's harmful for his brain (pattern recognition?) to be doing such things on ketamine.. so we are trying to research it.

The internet appears to be full of general affects (brain-wide).. so it's hard to find about the (or lack of) affects on particulars. I will continue to try to figure if anything is known about this, but maybe someone already knows something.

I've been trying to find where thoughts are neurologically to make a judgment physically if it is related but it's hard (tons of duplicate information T_T)

re:dosage:

perhaps 100-200mg... never been unable to move (even off really high doses) but still feel the quality is pretty high.

he makes it a point to not re-dose much or at all.

Set is a nice game! :)

I am far from brainchemistry, but the idea that playing Set is harmful for a player while he is under the influence of Ketamine... it sounds ridiculous to me.

Anyhow, this question is better suited for Advanced Drug Discussion.

Ketamine usage alone is bad for your brain, I don't think it makes a different what you're doing while under the influence.
