im not gonna argue, but since im a strong advocate of the harm reduction aspect of this message board...
(which I won't cos needles a fucking idiotic IMO)
in reference to administering ketamine, that state ment is pretty idiotic. im not making a personal attack on anyone, but alot of people need to get over the "needle-phobia" and realize that it is the right way to do some drugs.
A sterile solution in your muscle is idiotic but half a gram of nasty powder that burns through your nasal membranes is quite intelligent.
thats what im tryin to say...
I never said snorting is intelligent but I stand by the fact that needles are damned idiotic. Let's face it, millions of years of evolution has prepared our bodies to absorb a certain ammount poison through our mucous membranes and stomach. We are designed to cope with that, it's natural. Sticking something directly into your muscle or blood stream, that ain't natural, the body isn't designed to cope with that. Even the medical profession recognises this, that's why the new generation of administration routes will be inhlers and the like. Call me a prude or a square if you will but at least I'm not running the sort of risks your average needle user does, I would like to live a long, fruitful and healthy life thank you very much. Learning how to use a needle would not be conducive to that IMO, it would leave me vulnerable to experimenting with other more detrimental substances than I would otherwise use.
if someone doesnt wish to use drugs via IM or IV administration, so be it. do what you will with your body!! however, you should not condemn a method of administration because you dont like it. If you use your brain, needles are very safe and very clean. When insufflating a drug, you are putting not only foreign mind altering chemicals up your nose (THAT YOUR SINUSES ARE *NOT* DESIGNED TO ABSORB), you are putting whatever crap (dust, dirt, bacteria, microscopic molds, whatever) is on the table/razor/mirror/key/surface up your nose. your body has to process that shit and get it out, same as the drug (in this case, ketamine). not only is ketamine harmful to your sinus membranes (ya know, that BURNING sensation?), but its harmful to your esophagus and stomach lining. your body then has to repair that damage. one time use is, of course, minimal, however constant insufflation of drugs (or any drug that is ingested in the manner not ment to be ingested, for that matter) will cause harm to your body, thus speeding up your body's state of entrophy, thus reducing the "long and fruitfull life" somewhat. It is alot easier for your body to heal the puncture of the needle (assuming you did it right) than when a chemical enters the nostrils. And god man, dont even tell people that snorting half a fucking gram of ketamine is even remotely more "healthy" than IMing a proper amount for recreational dose.
that and the whole "natural" vs "unnatural" argument really pisses me off cuz it sounds like mindless hippy crap retort and i really fuckin hate hippies!!!!
Needles are clean and safe. U can buy tons of syringes at various places, and theyre not expensive. Just dont SHARE THEM with people, and learn to inject yourself CORRECTLY. Dont inject yourself with less-than-laboratory grade chemicals. If you think IMing K will lead you to injecting other drugs, that has nothing to do with needles, that is a scenario entirely within yourself. Do you think that thousands of medical physicians with multiple PhD's would suggest to the general populus a method of administration that wasnt the cleanest and safest and most sensible method possible?
Snorting K makes about as much sense as plugging crack. Im not judging anyone, I happen to be a big fan of snorting K myself, but I am fully aware of how ridiculous it is.
killa, you mentioned about your tolerance, and how its not possible for you to achieve levels of "k headspace" I was joking about. IMing would assure you to get to that level, even if your tolerance to insufflation is that high.
BUT, when it gets to the point I'm on the verge of unconsciousness that's when it's not as fun for me, personally.
completely understandable. I share a similar opinion about other drugs.
