JWH-018 cancer question

Hey guys, I was hoping someone could help me with relevant information about the carcinogenicity of JWH-018. I have smoked a lot of it in the past few months, and it was stupid of me to not do proper research beforehand.

Also, will the fact that I have been smoking the pure powder instead of a blend make it more likely for me to get cancer? I am really scared, so please reduce my health by letting me know what I am in for.

the short answer is we don't know anything.

the long answer: some people are concerned with the large conjugated aromatic ring structure of JWH-018. these types of structures can form stable epoxide intermediates, which can fit in between layers of DNA and cause serious problems down the road. but we don't know how much this epoxide formation is actually happening, and we don't know if the dangerous epoxides are actually going anywhere near the DNA inside our cells.

if you're worried about it, don't smoke any more. it's probably not hyper-carcinogenic, but there's no way to know for sure until we see some seriously long-term studies done on human tissue.

Yeah, I said a prayer and poured it into the toilet. Tbh that's the best answer I was expecting. Thanks!

there was a worry regarding the napthalene moiety as well. However it would need to be freed during pyrolysis & even then an average dose would have about as much napthalene as one or two cigarettes, and being that napthalene is a very minor constituent of tobacco smoke it probably wouldn't be too big a deal. Carcinogenic yes, but the amounts involved probably wouldn't be worse for you than dozens of other things you're likely to come into contact with in your day to day.
