So, like I said, I just woke out of bed about 45 minutes ago with what feels like INVOLUNTARY movement..... since I awoke, I have been channeling it into tapping feet/stretching, but its really bothering me....I am quite versed in basic medical conditions, and this fits none of them..... If I was seizing, why do I have control over it when I am focused/using the muscles.......it's like I can override it, but if I don't, I feel very uncomfortable sensations, hard to describe, very trippy though.....and this has never happened before, it looks like I'm a little bit orchestrated parkinsons patient.... But if I understand, that's much more involuntary, not to mention gradually manifesting, I don't think I'd wake up quite like that and be writhing 10 minutes later....it's like a parkinsons attack that I can control......

,
i am a methadone patient, and I took 75 milligrams of dextromethorphan yesterday (saturday, around 2 pm, shortly before i dosed my methadone)....other than that, am a pretty sober person......occasional benzo usage, but none in at least a week..... I was doing some deep back stretches earlier that felt like they tweaked some nerves, but that couldn't cause THIS could it?

I know this is not a place for emergencies, but like I said, I feel rather in control of myself at this point, just cannot sit still......anyone out there to talk to?

k....can definitely control it, can hold hand steady........ WHAT THE HEEEEEELLLLLLL ......feels kind of crazy, or I wouldn't even mention the substances, and would think I just twitched a nerve(I was laying with my neck at close to 75-90 degrees to stretch earlier).........but I feel really odd....

That does sound very strange FattyAcid, I can imagine it would be a bit concerning for you! If you've only had the substances that you listed in your first post, I can't see any reason why those drugs would be causing this.

If you are concerned and if the twitching/involuntary movement is persisting you really need to see a doctor about this as soon as you can. If there is something strange going on with your nervous system you absolutely must get it looked at right away. Can you see a doc today?

Yes, I have insurance.....I just hesitate, as the oddity of it, combined with my history, is going to be a bitch to explain to family, lol, but I won't hesitate....I'm not going to go soon, it's early sunday morning where I am, I imagine if I rolled into my local ER I'd be treated like a tweaker post haste .....but forreal, this is whack......just watched the whole south park movie, and it's not really getting better...the only thing that makes it FEEL better, not just still is stretching my neck like I was earlier....

I can TOTALLY sit still if I focus on it.....it does feel like something odd with my nervous system, but I have never seen EXTERNALLY caused things like this.....but I'm not on any crazy concoction of drugs that would cause any of the symptoms I'm feeling.....they fit like 5 things, none of them making sense (If it wasn't voluntary in some minute way, and by that I mean controllable, it could be anything, including infection??s......but the fact that I CAN sit still points to something wrong with my nervous system, but other than early years of psychedelic experimentation, which weren't anything I'd call "outliers" to too much, that if I'm the first person to get from some sort of post-psychedelic craziness, I'm some of yall are REALLY fucked )

This sucks......can't get any info online, never heard of ANYTHING like this before specifically, and it's, well, fucking with my qui..

heh, and my roommate that thinks me surfing actually causes lag on his game (not downloading or uploading a thing, and I have like 20MBPS down) just unplugged me, thought I was asleep..... I'd love to be asleep, but fuck off and plug my internet in (I understand I might ought to be watched, but he's really judgemental AND massively misinformed, he wouldn't know anything helpful to tell me and if things get too crazy I will just go to the hospital)

Has it gotten worse at all, and how long exactly has it been going on for now?
Are you anxious at all?
Have you been exposed to any strange chemicals lately? I can't think of an example, maybe like in an old building or somewhere with a lot of industrial cleaning chemicals or something like that? Just brainstorming here...

k.....the only way to cease the sensations is to stretch the way I was earlier.....otherwise, it feels like a cross between electric shock and vertigo

starting to think this could be some crossed nerves or something, which is just as worrisome as anything else

I THINK I'll be able to fall asleep in a position that stretches it the right way to relieve symptoms, but I can't live with my head cocked at 90 degrees...... I guess I should mention the reason I'm on methadone is pain and management at the same time, I have an incredibly twisted back, result of an unhealthy childhood (this pain I used to get when I carried all my bookbags, then played peewee football, then had poor posture, then got in carwrecks where I was "fine" so I didn't ever think I was hurt until little aches; are now an everyday 5-7 on the pain scale)

no, it hasn't gotten worse....it's stayed remarkably steady.....

Cannot THINK of any environmental toxins.....this seems too mind based to be caused by something like that, but I am not a doctor, I just play one on TV

I am a little bit anxious....one of the first thoughts I had when rising to this feeling was "I've been dosed" but literally milliseconds later I dismissed that, this is unlike ANY drug's effect that I'm aware of........I honestly can't tell if the anxiety is just me worried or if it's being influenced......I feel FINE other than not in control of my own nervous system..... heh...... famous last words, tell my ex I love her, all that.....

but really..... I am flabergasted.....

I am going to try and lay down....thank you for your responses though, like I said, I have a roommate up who could watch me, but he wouldn't be of any more help than a 20 questions machine, so I will be checking back in (perhaps from a cocked head position ???)

Yeah see if you can try to relax and stretch it out. But seriously, please seek medical attention as soon as you can, regardless of whether your current symptoms improve or not. What you're experiencing is strange enough to cause you this much concern, yo really need to get yourself checked out as soon as your local doctor's office opens.

And of course, if your symptoms get worse, get yourself to the ER immediately.

Let us know how you're doing okay?? Take care of yourself <3

FA-I have experienced a similar thing when I was am opiate user-mainly methadone. You don't have to answer this, but do you IV your methadone??? Any stimulates at all? I did a little research on DMX-while I did not bother to look into methadone mixed w/ DMX but you may want to. I had muscle spasms regularly from IV methadone pills and the liquid(NEITHER of which I recommend. If you haven't picked up the needle-DON'T! you won't miss what you don't know).
Anyway.this DMX mega thread has many accounts of muscle tension and spasms. DMX MEGA THREAD.
My question as to whether you IV is crucial bc if you have trash fever(also known as cotton fever) it would explain your symptoms(this is from my experience ONLY).
I am sure you are aware of the dangers in mixing methadone and benzos and even though you have not had any recently-you may be experiencing benzo W/D depending on your tolerance and normal intake(DO NOT take any benzos now-definitely not safe). When I get manic and have to take and extra anti-psychotic(a heavy duty one that knocks me out for 2/3 days)when I finally wake I experience similar symptoms from benzo w/d. At this point I would put nothing else in your body as far as drugs. drink LOTS of water, try to eat a good meal. RELAX. your mind is a powerful thing and can add panic making your symptoms worse than they are.
I know this is a lot to take in,but have you taken DMX before-and at that dose???
Always check cross tolerance and interactions when mixing such powerful substances. The ER is always available to you, especially since you have insurance. If you are worried that they will be suspicious tell them you are on methadone treatment and had a cold so you took cough syrup and think you may have taken too much.
You have some options here-only you know your body and what it can take and only you can make the decision to do what is best for you.
There is no need to suffer. Do what you need to do to be healthy-you have to take care of yourself-especially when you are putting these types of chemicals in your body. Trust me,dear-I am not preaching. I have just been there before.
Please keep us posted-I will be online for quite a while today so I will be checking in on you.
BE safe and STAY safe. Feel better soon.

Much peace and love......................................skillz =D

k.... a friend woke up, and convinced me of it just being a tweaked nerve....I got some sleep, then woke up around 6 hours later....felt totally fine

THEN....went to the bathroom..............where I woke up what had to be 15-30 seconds later with my roommate standing over me calling the ambulance..... THIS has happened before, and had been diagnosed as low blood pressure/sugars, I was told to eat more healthy and try and be more calm without help.....

I sent the ambulance away, because like I said, I HAVE experienced that before and had it thoroughly checked out, and do not want to pay to be brought in to the ER when I am completely capable of taking myself down there......

I am going to eat some food and try and rest......I am hella anxious now, and that is causing the sensations to come back a bit, so I'm going to do my best to calm myself down..... I do not plan on letting this go unchecked, but I feel like this might all be related to my occasional (heavy???) usage of benzos in combination with my methadone, along with some weird effects from DXM......so, gonna let myself calm down and try and rest after food, then re-evaluate....I do not feel like the fainting and the weird nerve sensations/movements are tied together, more that the anxiety i feel and said sensations, so i'm going to do my best to arrest this anxiety (not with any drugs)

Thanks for your kind remarks....I won't leave this open ended, but I don't want to sit and focus on this at all either, so if I'm not online/responding, don't be alarmed

forgot to mention, no, do not and have not ever used drugs IV.....IVing methadone is a horrible habit that I have seen though, and it scared me away from needles for life

not in withdrawal at all....I have experienced withdrawal based RLS, this is that x10 or x20..... And it's very much centered in my upper body
but it does feel nerve related, as I mentioned......

Have eaten, feel better.......

Honestly, it feels like I just had a panic attack, so I agree that it's very possibly related to my messing with benzos in conjunction with opiates.....I have seen similar symptoms from friends who tried to cold turkey a years worth of 10mg+ days, but like I said, my use, although @ times not low in dose, was never continued for more than a couple weeks at a time with months in between instances where I will eat some every day for a while, as I am well aware of benzo WD based seizures...... but it's been literally a week since I last used between 4-6 milligrams of clonazepam daily for NO MORE than two weeks? I am going to continue to monitor and take care of myself as best I can for a couple days, see if things calm down..... If they get any worse again, or if I faint again, I will not hesitate or refuse medical intervention, and I will bring it up to a doctor soon, but I don't want to go in there when I'm pretty sure that anxiety is at the base of my symptoms right now, I don't like medical institutions, i always have to "steady myself" so they can get non-anxiety based readings from me......

It certainly all sounds panic-related to me, panic can do some really strange things to the body.. I'm very glad you are feeling better now and have been eating and drinking after your faint. I really would feel a lot more comfortable with you getting this checked out sooner rather than later - it is all a bit odd and even getting simple stuff diagnosed over the internet is difficult to say the least! I agree it does't sound like a seizure.. it could possibly have been rigors (like shivers) but you tend to only get those if you have a high temperature and are generally unwell.

I understand you not liking medical institutions but I really think it would put our, but most importantly your mind at rest if you get this checked out ASAP..

Good luck!

while I agree, a clean bill of health would help me relax, I still hesitate to walk my happy ass 4 blocks over there..... It all seems very much related to what I would consider anxiety symptoms.....but like I said, if things change or get worse, I will seek help....

I don't think going into an ER (it's sunday evening here) would get me the best medical care, I don't want to sit around while nurses take incorrect hunches all night until a doc gets there in the morning....

They have doctors there 24 hours a day, they aren't just going to let you sit there and rot over night. I wish I had an answer for you, though. The only thing similar I have been thru, was when I was prescribed fluphenazine (some kind of anti-psychotic the psychiatrist at the methadone clinic gave me for sleep), the first night I took it and then woke up the next morning have a dystolic reaction. With involuntary muscle movements al over my body and my tongue was like rolling back into my throat.

I went to the ER and they shot me up with benadryl and something else, and it went away immediately. It turns out I was alergic to that specific medication.

I wish you the best!

How are you going now though FattyAcid? Are you still having the same twitching, sensations etc?
