Just tried to post a 14000 word guide I have spent weeks writing

I've written an incredibly comprehensive guide to drugs in Asia, yet for some reason my thread was deleted. Could I at least have a reason for why my post was removed?

Your post was removed for a few reasons. First off, it was a duplicate of an earlier thread. Secondly, it details how to break the law, which we do not discuss here. It was also full of prices, which is another thing we don't discuss here.

In addition, it was a massive wall of text. Use paragraphs. Nobody is going to read a 7000 word paragraph. I was about to PM you all of this information but then I saw that you created this thread so I'm replying here instead. We're a harm reduction forum, we're not really trying to cater to providing people with information on how to skirt the laws in various Asian countries.

If you edited your "guide" and removed the parts about violating the law and prices, it would be appropriate for your blog...but not appropriate for a forum post.

Couple of things: I edited it out and used paragraphs, I have a screenshot of the posted thread and it was paragraphed and actually looked really neat/ordered, unless that just showed up on my computer or was a bug or something (to be fair I did have difficulties posting and had to try it over 10 times after the website kept crashing, perhaps that had something to do with it).

All of the prices were snipped; it says at the top that the prices have been removed for the purpose of posting online. There were no prices contained within, except in reference to hotels (guaranteed, I just checked again).

But fair enough about the harm reduction point - I guess I misunderstood the purposes of the forum (I assumed that the more theoretical discussion forums could be used for the sort of thing i'd been writing, and it was only particular forums which employed the harm reduction policies).

I'm a bit gutted about that really, I was proud of what i'd written. Seems it's completely unusable anywhere really, apologies for wasting your time and humiliating myself yet again. Pretty sick of having nowhere to fit in, even online, but I suppose it's no-ones fault but my own.

All of the prices were not snipped. I saw a huge amount of prices.

I really don't think you don't "fit in". You just misunderstood the posting guidelines which is totally understandable considering that you're a beginner. Don't be scared just because your post was removed. It's part of being part of a forum. Like I said before, if you were able to edit your "guide" a bit more it would be appropriate for your blog (which is built into Bluelight).

Yes, you did use paragraphs..but I just threw one of your larger paragraphs into a word processor and it comes back with over 1000 words. Nobody is going to read a 1000 word paragraph either...its just hard on the eyes.

If you are interested in making it a blog post, I can provide you with the text again.

Okay I'll try the blog post option, sorry again. I've got the text myself don't worry. One last question, is ALL price discussion banned, even for normal items and things like accommodation? Because i've seriously just read the entire thing, also Ctrl+F'd for numbers/£ signs and there are seriously no prices related to drugs. There are still some prices in relation to hotels, books etc though. Just want to clarify before I post it again, to potentially prevent wasting more of everyone's time.

Actually never-mind, I already feel fairly stupid and clearly haven't done my research. I need 50 posts to start a blog, thanks for the help, maybe one day i'll come back here but at the minute I feel a bit disheartened about the whole thing so i'm just going to delete it. Sorry again for wasting your time, I should have read the rules more closely before getting over excited about posting

I encourage you to stick around and get to know the community a bit before you decide to just leave. With that attitude, you will never get to 50 posts. This is a discussion forum - not a place to post a guide and then leave anyway. Is that what you were planning on doing?

I encourage you to read through some of the threads here. It sounds to me like you have a wealth of information that you'd like to share - its just a question of how to share it. We encourage conversation here, not just posting large amounts of information and leaving.

Please reconsider disappearing. I know you did it a few months ago when you posted an 8,000 word version of this guide. So why not stick around and actually get involved in the conversation?

Yeah you're right, I've probably come across as a total oddball here. My intention was to start a large Asia discussion thread which I could check up on daily, I wasn't planning on just leaving after posting it. I've had a bit of a crap day and the post getting rejected in it's current form was just the last in a long line of disappointments (don't worry though, I completely understand why it was, and will make an effort to adjust it accordingly). I'll have a look around and hopefully find some things to contribute, which will hopefully mitigate my last couple of posts which upon re-reading have caused me to cringe with embarrassment, despite the anonymity of the forum (haha).

There are many sections or 'subforums' on this forum so I encourage you to lurk more and get a feel for the site to see what kinds of threads belong where. If you click on the 'forum' tab on the top left of the site you will see each forum we have along with a little description of the type of content hosted in each of the forums.

As NT pointed out this is a harm reduction forum and we don't discuss how to break the law, but we do have social forums that are more relaxed. The regional forums are a good place to check out, and the link to your region was provided in the post above.

Welcome to Bluelight.
