Opioids Just took 10 mg Methadone what to expect?

Hello all, I just took 10mg of Methadone, and it is my first time using. Let's say I took it at 415pm for easiness. This is my first time ever doing it, I have a slight opiate tolerance at around 30mg oxy. I just don't want to OD on methadone tonight haha but what can I expect? Should I have dosed myself lower at like 5mg? I weigh about 150 if that means anything. But what's coming in the next few hours?

10mg is no where near an od. Just don't combo it or redose takes atleast 2 hours to peak. Personally i think you'll need a higher dose.

UPDATE its like an hour and a half since i took it, and im feeling pretty good. Will the high get better as more time goes on? How long will it last?

Methadone has an average half-life of 22 hours. But the half-life can be anywhere between 18 and 60 hours.

10mg shouldn't be an excessive dose for someone of your weight and opioid tolerance. If it were me at your current stage and opioid tolerance, I could've easily handled 30mg. That's just for referene sake though, some people can fall out at that dose, even with a slight tolerance like yours...

Keep in mind, methadone takes a long, long time to kick in for those who don't use it on a regular basis. Three hours to reach peak effecs is not an uncommon scenario. I doubt 10mg will get you high, you'll probably just feel some slight relaxation and drowsiness at that three or four hour mark. Just don't redose until this time just to be absolutely sure to not find yourself in an overdose situation.

Well the half-life should be up at around 12:15PM tomorrow if you took it at 4:15PM today. You could probably take another 10mg if you wanted but I would wait at least 4 hours after taking it before taking any more because of how long it takes to have effect. Rememeber you can always take more but you cant take less.

Do you want us to hand feed you pills also? Know your body and use common sense. My first time i took 35mg, 1 hr 30 mins in i wasn't high enough and took 30mg's more(no tolerance). I'm still here. Methadone is not significantly more dangerous than oxy when you know the duration.

I'm just cautious because i've read of people od'ing on like 60.... This just seems more dangerous to me than fuckin oxy sorry for being cautious, and I know about half life thats what freaks me out about this shit

Giving reassurance is dangerous. That's why Keif' Richards reffered to himself in a similar scenario. Why should he or anyone else feel responsible for your actions. Sorry to sound harsh, i hope you understand. Don't dose tomorrow, wait until the next day. then do what you feel is right. When i started 50mg was my sweet spot, i would nod off for a day, feel lifted for 2 and throw my guts up everywhere DO NOT DO 50.
