Hiya! I just happened upon this site tonight cause a friend of mine's daughter was taken to hospital with pancreatitis due to methadone use.

She is taking it as an alternative to heroin. My friend said her system just couldn't handle the dosage she was on.

Not knowing much about it, I went googling for some answers. I must say the information was skimpy to say the least! More information was found on the use of methadone and heart problems. So, I found myself here!

As an ex-heroin addict this was new to me because when I got clean I took a different approach and I don't really agree on giving heroin addicts methadone instead.. It's like trading one addiction for another, only it's legal.

Welcome Gem! You should check out The Dark Side if you haven't already. I think you could probably give some people advice on getting off opiates there. I hope you enjoy your time here, there are some amazing people around here.
