There's much more caffeine in tea than coffee by dry weight.
You're all pussies, I cook my beans up and mainline that shitYeah I'm hardcore like that.
You just don't know where your coffee beans have been. Some dealers even transport their beans in the digestive tract of wild cats and collect them once they have shit them out.
Depends how long you brew your tea. 1 second isn't going to be very strong, 10 minutes and you're talking a lot more caffiene than coffee. Not irrelevant at all, it's a fact than I find not many people know, which I think is useful to know.
Throw away the first infusion. Caffeine is quicker to dissolve than the other tea compounds. Dr Andrew Weil, the noted Doctor and Nutritionist states that you can remove most of the caffeine on your own by steeping the tea for 45 seconds in hot water and then pouring off the liquid. He states that up to 80 percent of the caffeine is released in the first infusion of water so only minimal amounts will remain when you add water the second time. This method eliminates very little of the tea's flavor and aroma [3]. The length of the first infusion can affect the strength of the second infusion--the longer the infusion, the blander the next, but also the lower the caffeine presence. Try to find the longest first infusion time that still preserves enough green tea flavor for your liking.
When brewed for a series of three repeated brews, the caffeine concentration was higher in the first brew for one of the other Formosa oolongs than other green, black, and oolong teas. The caffeine content decreased dramatically from the first to the third brew, about 50-70mg/cup in first cup, 15-25 in second, and 5-10 in third, each brew about 5 minutes in length.
