Just prescribed Lyrica again.. question

Well I just got prescribed Lyrica again after being off it, and benzo's and opiates for about 5 months approximately. (Had a pretty severe 5.5 year benzo habit).

Anyway, my doc started me off at pregabalin 50mg BID (twice a day).

But I took 300mg about an hour ago or so? Can I expect anything or not really?

Also I don't 'plan' to use these recreational, I actually need Lyrica for some 'burning skin, and chills' feeling from fucking up my nervous system i think from heavy heavy benzo use.

You need to wait 2.5 hours for the full effects to kick in. It takes a long time.

450mg is the perfect dose for anyone looking to get high. Go back to using your normal dose after that because tolerance kicks in quick.

Does food in the stomach affect how Lyrica will work as well?

^ No not for GBL withdrawals. I suppose it would be good for GBL withdrawals, although I use GHB and have never really had bad withdrawal from GHB. Benzo's are a different fucking story though.

I'm currently prescribed 600mg/daily.

I don't believe having a full stomach or not has any affect on the effects.

i take 150 mg a day for a benzo taper and i dont feel it for about an hour. I refuse to abuse it however because it is actually helping me sleep through this terrible benzo withdrawal and i dont wanna raise my tolerance.

So I just took another 150mg about half hour ago, so now thats 450mg total. Not really feeling much. Maybe I am expecting a bit too much. If you re-up the dose does it do any good or am I just wasting?

Your not wasting it. I was talking to a girl that posts on this forum (not giving names) on AIM and she did the same thing, took 300mg and didn't feel it after a couple hours and I recommended another 150mg and she got REALLY high. It will build up, as Lyrica lasts a long time when you abuse it. Going to 600mg will just leave you really drunk and most likely pass out.

Yes, I feel it now, very mild & relaxed - a lot better but still not as euphoric as GABA-B agonists IMO.

Anyway, how would a few beers go with Lyrica? bad idea, or no?

While pregabalin is a structural derivative of GABA, it does not bind directly to GABA-A, GABA-B, or benzodiazepine receptors, does not augment GABA-A responses in cultured neurons or have acute effects on GABA uptake or degradation.

However, prolonged application of pregabalin increases the density of GABA transporter protein and increases the rate of GABA transport. So you really can't compare Lyrica with GABA agonists. I have to explain this to many people so your far from the first.

Yes, a few beers would be fine, most likely increase the effects.
