Just how bad is the "Ghetto" in your city.

yeah here in Milwaukee its not so bad as to you would have to fear for your life when simply driving through it. Milwaukee must actually be tame compared to some stuff i have heard about differnt cities on BL. So how is bad is the ghetto in your city. I mean is it just a rundown part of town where really all you need to worry about is some panhandlers and a few shady souls, or is it the gang infested crack/heroin dealer/whore/junky mecca of the world? Do you ever cop or even attempt to score in the hood or is it to risky and just plain fucked up?

there's this one street that everybody calls the "circle"
one way in, one way out. Straight up like boyzndahood sell anything fa profit. "track stars"..... before they even stop, they run to them cars.

if you're white, you better not be caught on that block.

we've even got the little ghetto ice cream man truck, on 20s... His loud speaker plays, "Mr. Ice Cream Man" by Master P. I kid you not.

I'm gonna write a book before I'm 30, about living in the south. i swear
 
Dayton, Ohio here.

Dayton has been ranked in the top 15 for most dangerous cities to live in for quite some time now. The ghetto here is divided by a river and a bridge. It's simple: East side is safe, west side isn't. I like to drive thru the ghetto from time to time, and I usually see hookers workin corners, gangbanger swarming the gas stations, and most of the businesses and housed are boarded up. Maybe just cause I'm white, but I would not feel safe walking thru there at night. Daytime would be ok, but not night.
I usually get stare downs even when i drive thru.

If you want to talk to someone who knows a thing or to about ghetto, ask LACEY K. And I don't mean that as an insult Lacey!
 
I live in Los angeles and 18 miles away from my house is the ghetto, It's very run down. it has a lot of gangs. They are in their street, just hanging out. A lot of people go get robbed. My coworker that has been living in the ghetto for 5 years has been robbed 3 times so far. The reason for that is because one of the ways to join the gang is you need to rob somebody, so that is why a lot people get robbed their. You do see a lot of junkies, whores and dealers. When you walk down street you see people selling drugs (mostly coke and weed) on the corners. And at night time, its even worst, people get murderd and raped.
Its very risky for a white person to score in the ghetto in my city, you have a big chance of getting robbed.

Pine Bluff Arkansas......Not even gonna think of that place. I hate going there at night to meet my friends.

My old hood was in Charlotte NC where I grew up. corner of 7th and Tryon I was one of only 5 white kids to live there and talk about track stars I can feel ya. Lookouts hawkin while ya work the corner and use your chirp phones when the police would make the block.

Eh...I lived on West 3rd in Drexel for 4 years. As far as the eastside/westside thing...they are both pretty trashy. The white trash live on the eastside, and black trash live on the westside. However, All the time I lived in Dayton, I saw maybe 5 hookers working the block, and since when does Dayton have a gang problem? Unless you mean the people "gangbanging" at the community college? heh

dayton really isnt that bad at all, there are very specific parts of the city where it isn't save to go, but overall it isnt that bad

people get robbed/shot/stabbed for sure...but its not like hearing gunshots is commonplace (except for a few select parts of the city....)

stay out of dope hoods, stay out of parkside, and stay out of northland and use common sense

I live in the most dangerous city in the world (Medellin, Colombia), or at least -was-, and while ive never had an issue yet, its hard to find somone who hasnt. Ive heard some of the craziest stories of escape from FARC kidnappings and shit like that. I know a guy whose missing both his hands cause he didint pay a $160 debt to the cartels, they even cortorised (SP?) his wounds so he wouldnt bleed to death while they gave him a firm blunt force beatdown.

In Medellin you got good city... then 100 feet away in any which way is nothing but slums to the hillsides. And no matter where you are, your always being watched by lookouts, your always being sized up by kidnappers, stalked a block away by street muggers. Everyones watching you at all times in public and the second theres a chance, shit goes down. Thats why unless you have bodyguards and your wearing a vest you should never wear anything expensive anywhere in public. Dress like a broke ass colombian.

Colombia corruptions so thick that they even have access to your bank account balances and other such information usually the second you enter the country, 'they' usually being the FARC and their freelancing kidnappers.

Oh and murders... I could take you for a walk through the slums and guarantee youd see a dead body sometime during that day. Its gnarly lifestyle them south americans live. You think you've seen ghetto, you aint seen nuttin.
 
I live outisde of Philadelphia. I've only gone for the car ride to score one time, and I wasn't too happy. I know this probably sounds racist, but really, have you ever been the only three white people in a 5 mile radius? It wasn't as bad as I've seen before, and not nearly as bad as it gets in NY, but it's pretty shitty and scary, these are heroin dealers after all...

there is no ghetto in my city.

the closest one is Detroit, and what more do i have to say besides "Detroit" to get across how bad it is?
 
there are ghettoish parts of our city. like across southfield around quandt. lincoln park is pretty ghetto, as is melvindale and parts of taylor. don't forget about ecorse or river rouge. but yeah, detroit is about as ghetto as it gets.
 
^ true. but i grew up in those areas and they werent bad when i lived there, so its hard for me to see them as bad now, if you know what i mean.
 
Dirty, i know Dayton isn't all that bad. And yes the eastside is pretty much white trash and the west is black trash. But it IS on the top 15 most dangerous list every year. Gangs, thugs, call em what you will. Anyone who packs and is walking the street is a gangsta IMO. Except for the cops.

And hookers are everywhere. Ever heard of Horton St? It's right off of 3rd, where I use to live, and there was usually a different girl working that corner every night.
I'm mostly talking about the Marathon on Gettysburg and the Sunoco on W.3rd St. as soon as you cross the bridge. Every time I drive by one of those it's covered in old Lincolns, Caddies, and black men wearing badannas and that weird shit some of them wear on their heads. I'm from the burbs, so yeah i don't for sure if they are in gangs, but you outta get what I'm trying to say.

And Drexel doesn't qualify as the west side, Dirty. Drexel isn't too bad at all; it's white.
 
Besides, I don't really like to brag about Dayton being a shitty city. Anyone who thinks it's cool that their city is dangerous is messed up.
 
My town doesn't really have a ghetto, just a poor section that all the spoiled kids in the suburbs call 'the scary ghetto'.

I've never seen anything resembling a ghetto. I mean, I see rundown houses and people sitting on their steps drinking 40s/liquor (yeah, sorry for the stereotype but what can I say, I see it?), but I never really see anyone up to anything that bad (although I haven't been there much), and the police reports/complaints/whatever filed section in the newspaper is generally pretty tame.
 
certain parts of LA, grimey az fuck, typical street street, one night i remember chillin out side the dope house, n' some crackheads pop out of a bush n' shit tryin to sell me electronics, then im layin on the hammock, n' hear madd shots poppin off on some world war 2 desert storm type shit, then the ghetto bird, sirens etc, was a drive by.
