now
its another dark day
kids no longer play
birds fall from the sky
worms rise up and die
fire burns like the touch of ice
life serves you, but for a price
time stands still
who would you really put in your will
motionless movements
meaningless compliments
friends are a rare surprise
just a fog filled with lies
a blinded creed
filled with greed
they wither and melt away
just another dark day

"fire burns like the touch of ice"
i like how you use ice to describe fire, it seems strange in saying it, but it really works.
i've felt the emotion your poem expresses many times and i've seen many different ways to escape it. the easiest is just to try something new. Dye your hair, buy a new cd... that kind of feeling usually comes from unbroken routine. I hope you don't have to feel like that for long.
