Just another cheesy love poem
With the same lines
Same imagery that people have used for centuries
Not worth reading, really…
Except it’s you and me.
You see, I’ve never truly made poetry with anyone before
Seeing you…
Feeling you…
It’s all I can think about
I try to describe it
And my mind is one long cliché
I think about how you make me melt
How I shiver when you touch me
And how I couldn’t think straight for days after our first kiss…
Two days…
and counting
It makes me think that you are just what I was wishing for
Someone to connect with
Someone to desire
Someone to desire me
But that’s not it,
Not even close…
There’s more than that
we can talk for hours and never get bored
Makes me smile just thinking about
How well we get along
You, whose thoughts I can’t predict.
Me, who’s afraid of what you are thinking right now
Hoping you like me back
And smiling because I
(almost)
know you do.
See, I couldn’t think of anything new,
It’s just another cliché
What makes us different than every other cheesy love poem?
It’s you and me.
