Benzos Just a quick bit of advice with valium and drug mix

OK so I used to take cocaine and valium regularly but after 3 years of sobriety. I decided to get some vallies for a quiet night in. Stupidly I took 3x10mg at 7pm thinking that was what I used to take, totally not thinking I don't have any tolerance anymore. after about 25 mins the valium hit so bad I was totally knocked on my arse so to "straighten me up" I broke a promise to myself and bought a g of coke, i had to walk to the cash machine to get the money and the woman in the shop had to help me get my card in the ATM machine! thats how wasted I was.

So anyway I took the whole g by myself between 8pm and 12pm. and then thinking the valium had worn off I took another one about 5 mins ago but I am now feeling very sedated and it's getting stronger as the coke wears off. Now my question before I lose the ability to speak or type. As the coke wears of is the 40mg valium going to kill me or am I more likely to just end up totally fucked off my face and crash out for ages which isn't too much of a problem as im not working tomorrow

I've had a quick look on the internet about fatal doses but most of the people who ask seem to be finding out how to kill themselves so not many people are willing to answer there questions!

And yes I know if in doubt go to a&e. If it gets really bad I will but i'm just so suprised 40mg could do this to me, I used to take that before I went drinking!

I would be very surprised if 40mg could kill you, it's not a high dose, the only problem might be the cocaine as I'm not sure how that might affect things. At the end of the day, if you really feel you are in danger then get to the hospital though.

if you're worried, be sure you're on AIM with someone (i'd say text but people might get worried and you might not like that idk)

how often do you drink?

whether you drink or not i think you'll be fine. worst you'll have is a blackout though i guess those can lead to bad things. if you drink and have a tolerance, that translates into tolerance for benzos and there really shouldn't be any problem in terms of death. problem with mixing them of course, always be cautious there

Yea I do drink on the weekends like to have a few pints. not to worried about blacking out just wanted to check i've not taken a fatal dose or anything. theres not much info on it. I'll have to remember this once, can't believe I didn't think about tolerance totally stupid, not like i'm a newbie at these things and pride myself on never getting myself into trouble im usually pretty responsible. Also the cocaines pretty much worn off now I reckon. Thanks guys

Youll be fine , as far as i know you cant overdose on just benzos alone, you would need to be taking another downer with it or drinking.

And actually the cocaine would be a good thing since its a stimulant it would kind of counteract the valium :D

Just an update kind of forgot about this post (must be those valiums!) yes as I predicted slept all day until 6pm woke up ate, went back to bed and now right as rain! Thanksyou for putting my mind at ease!

As far as my experience goes, it's virtually impossible to overdose on benzo pills alone or in combo with stimulants. (Though I'm not so sure about the increase in the risk of taking an excessive amount of stimulants while under the influence of benzos)

40mgs wont kill you, benzos are actually pretty hard to OD on when they are not taken with other CNS depressants. They started me off on 30mgs/day of Diazepam with no tolerance when i had it scripted. Generally anything less than .1g is not too dangerous, you will likely just pass out for the night. Not that its a good idea to test your limits with 100mgs or anything, just saying benzos have a high margin of safety compared to other sedatives such as barbituates or ludes

The LD50 for benzos is typically very high. Especially for diazepam. We're talking around 700mg/kg. So around 54,000mg for a 170lb human. I'm pretty sure your 40mgs is fine. I'm not saying try to test the limits, (trust me, once i learned this I did) but just know that for the most part you'll probably just pass out.

Note that combing with alcohol, stimulants, and other depressants is a WHOLE different story. But 40mgs is a pretty unsubstantial dose. As you probably already figured out, you'll be fine.
