i'm surprised nobody has mentioned ed wood. he was definitely overacting but it worked better than some of his other overacting roles (e.g. charlie and the chocolate factory).
^The trailer is out finally? That film has been in development hell for EVER. I shall have to look up the trailer. I really really enjoyed Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (enjoyed the book and his other writings as well), and I feel that, of all the people who have played Thompson (read: two), Depp is the best.
October 28, johnny depp stars in The Rum Diaries once again as Dr. Gonzo! I'm really looking forward to another Hunter S Thompson movie based on one of his books. If it even comes close to fear & loathing in las vegas it's going to be epic.
Blow was such an amazing movie im not ashamed to say the ending made me cry like a little girl really heart wrenching. I also enjoy the ninth gate but its a little slow which isnt really Depps fault.
I'm going to have to say the Pirates of the Caribbean saga. I can't imagine that a pirate would be an easy role to play, and I'm told that Johnny Depp wasn't exactly what they were looking for when he auditioned, but his performance was so unique that they casted him...
I'm not even all that big a fan of Pirates of the Caribbean, but I think his performance in it (or, them) is truly excellent...
