the dole office pressured me into applying for a call centre job, despite me really not wanting to do it as it seems like more trouble than it's worth. Don't they just get rid of you after a month if your not making enough sales?

well I've got an interview with them tommorow morning. I don't know what to do. If I miss it they might phone the dole office and I could get bollocked. On the other hand I could get the fucking job, which tbh, sounds even worse than being on JSA (I do want a job, but these call centres are fucking shitholes, not proper careers at all.)

any advice on what to do? I could just be really shit in the interview (and yes I have seen trainspotting, however I don't think i'll be taking any amphetamines :P maybe a cheeky line of mxe just before I go in :P)

Go for it, i got to visit an agency to start a new job also tomorrow, having a job even if it's a shit one is better than being on the dole and while you're there you can look for a better job and you get to walk into the dole office and tell to fuck off!

Unless money is no object then any job is better than no job. Even if it's just for a week or two.

Something about the routine and interaction with people in a formal work setting.

Work is good, keeps you busy, idleness is probably the source of most of my issues with drugs. If you stay at home all day you really have no option but to get wasted on something. It also has a positive boost in confindence, feeling of self worth, plus the obvious income.

Good luck with the interview.

Do a Spud, take some Speed beforehand.

I did an E and two lines of crappy speed before my first ever job interview in 2007. It was for a chugging job in London and they hired me. They said it's good you're so chatty and friendly. I lasted 3 days at the job

If you don't turn up to the job interview then you could be risking yourself a sanction which means no money at all for about 4 weeks (if it's your first sanction). If you really don't want the job then it's easy to not impress the interviewer but i'd be careful as the jobcentre often phone them up to see how you did.

i'm now not sure if it's actually a job interview or some course that they tried to advertise as a job interview.

I think the best way to not get hired is actually trying, every job interview for a job that I actually wanted, I didn't get hired, every time I couldn't care less they hired me. Fuck knows how it works.

pissed off now, the more I look at it the more it looks like they've gone on like it's a job but it's really a course/ work placement. Fuck's sake. Why not advertise it for what it is?

I think it must be a paid placement but still, I'll probably have to sign off while I'm on it. More trouble than it's worth.

tbh if it's a placement or course I'm just going to say it's not really what I'm after.

the dole center surely can't have a problem with me turning it down if it's not a proper job? i'm already doing work experience.

im going to be in that situation tomorrow, i have an interview for a job i wouldnt mind as it pays well, but they do random drugs testing, i dont want to get the job and then get tested positive for something, and have that on my records somewhere, so the safest thing is probably just to not try too hard at the interview, i hope that doesnt get me the same results that you got:\

I could always fuck up the tech test too, that should definately see to it that i fail to get hired.

On the bright side at least the interview will be good practice, for a job that doesnt require random drugs tests.

You could just pretend to be really anxious, then you wont get a job at a call center.
