Hello and sorry for my english, this is not my native langage. I am Jerome, from France. I have read many threads from bluelight in the past and found it particulary helpfull.

Since I am young, I have a strong attention deficit disorder and a depressive personality which led me to all sort of excess :
- I have been a benzo addict (2009) taking Bromazepam at nearly 50 mg / day during 3 months (I quit cold turkey, this was excruciating during 5 weeks but I succeeded and fortunately I had no PAWS),
- I had a codeine addiction (in 2011 and in 2013),
- I drank a lot during a short period (2009) (let's say 2 months),
- I took many mild stimulants over years (mainly ephedrine) in order to get concentration during difficult time (for instance my PHD).
- I took Kratom during 3 months.

Luckily, I am afraid of addictions and everytime I developped an addiction I stopped the drug before it is too late. Except the nicotine, I never took an addictive drug for more than 3 months.

After 2013, I was more stable (I have a wife and a son now) and free of addictions except the nicotine. Unfortunatly, I became ill in the end of 2014 because of a medical error (chronic pain since). For my chronic pain I have been recently prescribed Lyrica (Pregabalin). I didn't made research and didn't thought it was that addictive. My doctor told me that I could quit it cold turkey when I want with no problem. I took 2*100 mg a day for 21 days and stopped 5 days ago because it was upsetting my stomach and I got the flu.

Since I stopped I didn't sleep more than 2 hours a day. I have a strong drepression, muscle pain, panic attacks (never been subject to that before), weird dreams when awake, extrem exhaustion and I can't eat. This is really a nightmare. The pain came back since I stopped but this is not my main problem. I know quitting cold turkey is usualy not a good option but this is what I have done everytime in the past with success (codeine, benzos, kratom, ...). Considering that I didn't take heavy dose of Lyrica and during a limited period of time (less than a month), I hope the withdrawal symptoms will fade off soon (no improvements in the past 5 days). Because I am not an expert, I am looking for advices regarding this withdrawal.

Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english.

Hi Jerome, Welcome aboard!

Apologies for the delay. How is it going now? I've taken many gaba drugs myself, Lyrica was better than neurontin although in the short time I used it I did have issues coming off. I feel your pain. So sorry you are going through it right now, but fortunately - 21 days is short, even though substantial time to develop tolerance. Here is the The Lyrica (Pregabalin) Mega Thread v 2.0.

Please let me know if I could move your post to a recovery or drug related forum for more support. :) <3
