Social Justice Jacob Blake shot seven times by white cop, paralyzed, may never walk again.

nutty didn't know he had a warrant when he made the comment, neither did I. I was basing it off our knowledge at the time. Him saying suspect isn't as big a deal as this idea that cops get a pass for shooting people because they've disobeyed an order, or they've broken a law, or they're attempting to escape.

Again, NOBODY has said cops get a pass. Has ANY cop been given a pass in the last several years? No. They are all immediately suspended and investigation is held to see if it is a justified shooting. Folks may not like the outcome of such investigations, but they are done. Every time.

The default fucking choice for cops when dealing with black people shouldn't be to shoot them. There's several other ways to deal with a situation to minimize harm to everyone involved.

They didn't even attempt to bring him down before they got to the car! Taser? Baton? Fucking shoot the tires out so he can't get away. You know SOMETHING other than shooting him seven god damned times in the back.

It's not the default choice, as evidenced by the facts. In 2019, there were 1,300 blacks killed by cops. In 2015, there were 6,146,400 police-public contacts for the black population. Assuming cops kill, on average, 1k people per year, that's working out to 1/6146.4 which is about 1.63e-5 (0.0000163) % of the time.

Again, more evidence comes forward if we give it time. This is a shitty video from a distance, but you can even tell in the original across-the-street video the suspect was on the ground initially (not held down) on the passenger side of the car before he got up and walked around the front of the vehicle (shit source, but the KenoshaNews.com won't load) - "He was tazered by a female officer before appearing to attempt to enter his car, with his three children inside." So, um, yeah, it appears they did try other things first.

I don't understand how someone can be so heartless. These are human lives we're talking about. What have they done to you that causes so much hate?

He's being a trolling prick, thinking he is funny. Not worth the thought.

Seriously? I'm guessing it's that people are increasingly getting fed up with shit like this...

Is rioting the right response to this? I think not, but others seem to think it is necessary. It doesn't meant a bad response warrants an equally bad response. A lot of folks are fed up, but when they drop to the level of bringing guns to push back, it's pissing fuel on the fire that's already raging. Escalation is the only path, and it isn't a good one.

Wasn't there just a 17-year old kiddo who shot 3 rioters? 2 of them dead - 1 of them got shot in the arm.
Anyways guys, it's the left eating its own.
Nothing new to see here.

Did the independent press/live streamer deserve to have half of his arm blown off, too?

I don't think Wisconsin courts are going to take too kindly to this man.

10:15 AM PT -- The "vigilante" shooter in Kenosha who allegedly shot and killed at least a couple people has been captured by cops -- and he's now facing homicide charges.

Kyle Rittenhouse was arrested in Antioch, Illinois. Court records indicate he was booked for first-degree homicide in relation to the Kenosha shooting. It appears he's been assigned a public defender and is set to appear in court for an extradition hearing later this week.

A man -- who witnesses described as being part of a vigilante militia group -- with a long gun brazenly walked down a street in Kenosha, Wisconsin Tuesday night and began firing his weapon at people protesting the police shooting of Jacob Blake, killing 2, and incredibly walking right past a swarm of cops who let him go into the night.

The protest centered around the courthouse and got out of hand, with water bottles, rocks and fireworks aimed at police. The police then fired rubber bullets and tear gas into the crowd, which then dispersed and moved several blocks.

That's when the white vigilante appears on video with his gun. He reportedly had already shot someone several blocks away, and he was being chased by protesters who were trying to subdue him.

The vigilante falls to the ground as he's being chased and then begins unloading his weapon, striking and killing 2 people.

And, then the unthinkable happens. As police swarm the area in patrol cars and fortified vehicles, the vigilante -- gun clearly visible around his chest -- put his hands up in the air. The police vehicles all pass him, as the crowd screams he's the shooter.

It's a stunning contrast ... the white vigilante posed a clear and present danger, even if cops didn't know he was the shooter, yet Jacob Blake, an unarmed black man, was shot in the back 7 times as he tried to get in his car. Jacob is now paralyzed from the waist down.

I feel like arguing the nuance of wether this shooting or that shooting is justified is fruitless. Some are and some aren’t. Just looking at data the chance of one being unjustified increases if the subject is a black male. We just have to trust that the courts will handle each individual case.

What the protests SHOULD be about is drug laws that are designed to imprison and oppress minorities. Those are the vectors through which this sort of systemic discrimination happens. When police are trained that drug users are violent and that black people use more drugs (both dead wrong) that’s where the core of the issue lies

First, civil discussion of all opinions and beliefs from all ends of the spectrum are welcome and encouraged here. Although I respect grievances, this is not the place to air them, so please let's keep the focus on this important topic.

I'm watching the Kenosha County press briefing right now and the Sheriff touches on how he was asked to deputize this group of armed civilians and he said "he'll no," for this exact reason. Not only would it have been a deputy who committed murder had he agreed, but he specifically says, these groups are causing confrontation. I understand the concept of what they're doing, but sometimes there is a time and place for everything, and inciting more anger and violence by causing conflict seems to be absolutely counterintuitive to anything productive.

Memo to black American citizens:

When faced with a bunch of fat, racist white trash cops bearing guns, just do as you're fuckin told - for your own sake.

I wish I couldn't begrudgingly agree with this, but in the US it's just what you need to do. Even as a white male.... I don't fuck around with gun crazy control freaks who literally got handed a badge after just SIX WEEKS of training..... it's a fucking joke man.

Just lay down, hands up, shut up. If they want you, they'll get you, dead or alive.... and NEVER speak to them unless it's to say "I am complying" or.... "I'M FUCKING DYING PLEASE LET ME BREATHE"

most racism in the US is unspoken and implied.... it goes silent in the shadows.... it's a fucking virus and needs to be stopped.... I both love and hate my own country simultaneously.

Quick question, why is this recent shit going on in white ass Minnesota and white ass Wisconsin? There is more then meets the eye here kids. I’m just saying.

🧙‍♂️

What's even more crazy, is that it happened in little, sleepy Kenosha. I would have guessed Milwaukee first, and then maybe Racine. Kenosha would have never been on my radar.

Because criminals can be anywhere?
Because stupid cops can be anywhere?
Because you touch yourself at night?
All of the above?
