    Welcome Guest!

I've heard people say that MDMA tolerance is permanent,

IMO it isnt.

When you start rolling every experience is magical. Slowly as you become accustomed to the state that magic can slip away.

When it does slip away it is possible to regain it.
The key is set and setting.

After 10 years of rolling i can still have a great experience on 150mg if im doing it with my gf in a comfortable place. Or i can experience nothing but the physical effects, no love or empathy, if i do it on my own.

Not at all talking about losing the magic. Much more talking about tolerance in general.

I think people may become tolerant to the drug itself, but also the experience. The last thing will indeed be permanent, the first thing not.

Your brain will recover when you stop using a substance for a long enough time (at least when you didn't fry your brain in the first place by using E every day for several years for example.) The thing that will stay is the memory of the experience. Before you ever used E you didn't know what to expect in detail. Everything you experienced the first time was special and amazing. After your first time using you will know what to expect, so it will surprise you less, and thus be less magical.

I think it's kind of like a brilliant movie: when you watch it the first time, it's amazing. When you watch it again, it's still amazing, but less. When you watch it everyday, it won't be any good any more. If you stop watching it for 2 years and then watch it again, it will be amazing again, but still less amazing than the first time you watched it.

How special your times on E after the first time using will be depends on the setting if you ask me. If you have a lot of great people around you, at a great festival or whatever rocks your boat, the experience will be enhanced. It will then still be possible to have amazing times on E. When it comes to the physical tolerance moderation is the key (my opinion.) Make sure your body has enough time to recover, and you will be able to enjoy the drug without a tolerance buildup.

Yeah, I think its the magic wearing off rather than tolerance esp if you do it infrequently.

well after 10 years, with some periods of abuse thrown in there, i can still get off fine at 150mg.
These days i roll about 3-4 times a year.

150mgs will get me going and Ive been using twice as long as that.

Spacing out your rolls is key - If 150mg (approx) doesnt get you going you need a break!

Is it?

Or is that just a scare?

I thought no tolerance was permanent, some just hard to rid of, such as mdma.

no its not. when you take amphetamines, calcium ions start to build up in the NMDA channel. that builds your tolerance up.

taking Magnesium will lower your tolerance. The best type is magnesium glycinate (chelated) with bioavailability at around 80%. 500mg is the recommended daily dosage. i also believe its recommended that you take calcium supplement with it also because it could cause a Calcium/Magnesium imbalance. please feel free to correct me.

My experience is that the loss was fairly permanent. (Totally my own fault for over use) and I've tried 12 month and longer breaks and lead a very healthy life otherwise. The stuff still works but even at much higher doses doesn't have the same fun factor.

Although this post about chelated magnesium gives me hope. Given that I exercise like a maniac I have been magnesium deficent in the past and not realised it. Anyone else tried the mg solution?

Not sure if its permanent but here is my recent experience. ( I have rolled 22 times since 2008 and pill count is at 73 1/2. )

I rolled 3 times in a 4 week period during May and this June. All pills were from the same batch tested good.

First roll was a 4 pill night after a 5 week break. Great time. Had nitrous. 14 hours. Just fantastic.

Second roll was the next weekend. 3 1/2 pills ..nitrous..weed.. we went for 18 hours straight. Great time. EXCEPT: Peak did not kick in until we took the 3rd pill. My first tolerance experience.

The 3rd roll was 2 weeks later. 2 pills Great time but short. I dropped at 11:30 ...we were done at 4. Some may say this normal but I usually go 6-8 hours alone on 2 pills and even longer with nitrous.... which we had this night. Roll was still short. So yes tolerance is real. Is it permanent? I hope not. Most people I know who take long breaks have amazing rolls.

I am on a break now. Not sure how long it will be. Trying to go a month or longer. I will update you next time I drop and let you know how my tolerance is.

Oh and I wanted to mention that every time I go above 2 pills I have a shitty recovery week. My last roll on the 2 pill dosage had virtually no negatives except I was a little physically tired one day. No aches, no emotional roller coaster ride etc etc. I plan to keep my dosage at 2 no matter what..even if my roll is short.
