I've only been using for just over a year now. never really had any bulging veins to begin with, none at all really. Tying off is most definitely a requirement for me. when I first started, tying off was more than enough, I learned quickly how to do everything the correct and cleanest ways. I missed occasionally while learning and sometimes still do, but have never done anything stupid that would make things worse. I have common sense =D

For about the first 8/9 months I never scarred, bruised, barely even left marks. I always use a new point, normally untie halfway through, put pressure on for a min or two afterwards, and have used a couple kinds of scarring creams. which all worked great for a while. But over the past 5 months my veins are hardly there any more, not at all in my arms; ehh but there wasnt much to begin with, just now there's literally nothing.

So the only place I can get without missing are my wrists and hands. I hate it, and now especially. I have used my hands occasionally all year, but past few months, they have been scarring super easily. A majority of the time, there's always a mark left. And lately these marks are not going away. They're leaving dark marks, some scars, but I have noticed them all getting lighter overtime, just a lot of time.

I would loooove some help, and am totally open to any advice, tips, secrets, requirements, anything. On what anyone and everyone does to speed up the healing process, help scars go away as much as possible, even how to avoid them in general. Anything and everything... UNLESS any comments/opinions on stopping use of needles/drugs in general, I appreciate the thought but for the time being I'm just looking for help on how to do things right, thats all..

I appreciate it people, thanks much!! %)

When I was in hospital for an extended period being poked 20-30 times a day (often missing the vein and making it bulge cus of my crappy veins), I got them to switch to doing it in my feet and then made sure that I used copious amounts of a normal moisturiser on my arms twice a day. If you want to speed up the process of the scars lightening use some biooil (I don't know if this is available in the US, but it's basically an oil that lightens scars), although it seems you've already tried this. If you give your arms a rest and use a moisturiser and biooil for a couple of weeks they should go back to looking at least slightly normal. Drink lots of water too.

I don't really know how helpful this advice will be to you, but I hope it helps.

Not much you can do aside from choosing another route of administration.

Get some attractive and well-thought out tattoos to cover up the scarring is what I'd do.

Yeah this is more of a basic drug discussion question. Maybe drug culture.

They subside gradually upon cessation. Areas that have been infected, missed/sub-q shots, and sites that have subjected to harsh injectables (pill extractions, tar heroin etc) tend to be quite worse in terms of scarring. I stopped shooting up over 5 years ago. I have matching scars on the same part of the upper forearms, not in the inner arm, but higher up on the median cephalic. Despite being right-handed, the scar on the right arm is actually worse (I suppose my left hand was not as precise......).

Point is, they have improved, but are not gone. However, I used to be highly vascular.....and this visible vascularity has not returned, in its entirety. Weight-lifting has helped some of the vascularity to become visible again, but the veins in the right arm especially, have been damaged permanently.
