IV meth questions

I've been using meth on and off for the last couple years for studying and just having fun. Probably once a month since I started.
I've kind of lost interest in speed since I now have quite an abundance of opioids and other goodies so its probably been a few months since I've tried it.
Last night I was given a half a gram of some very decent glass and Im looking to try something new. I have plenty of experience with IV drugs (cocaine, heroin, hydromorphone) but I've never had the chance to IV meth.
I've heard many different things on banging meth so Id like to ask some of the experienced users on the board some questions...
Actually, I'm really just wanting to know how much different would the preperation be for some shards in comparison to the others I've injected.
Should I use something besides the 29s? Heating? Filtering?

IVing meth is about the same as with other drugs. Meth disolves easily in cold water - no heat required. Insulin syringes work fine with it. Since you never want to inject any solid material, filtering is always a good idea. Meth is harsh on veins, so you should dilute the dose as much as practical to reduce potential irritation.
 
when you IV meth does the effect wear off quicker then other methods, and what happens if you accidentally miss your vein? whats the easiest vein?
 
Like adamKY said, it's the same as with anything. But dilute as much as possible, and inject slowly to be nice to your veins, so they won't harden up.
If you miss the vein, you'll get a big lump of fluid under your skin, the area will swell up and burn like a bitch, and you may or may not develop a nasty-looking abscess over the next few days. Always check to make sure you're in a vein by pulling back on the plunger and looking for blood; sometimes you have to do this repeatedly if the needle gets moved around during the injection process. Also STOP injecting if you feel any burning around the site -- this is a sign you're outside a vein.
For most people, the easiest vein is the big fat one on the inside of your elbow, but different people have different bodies. Look for a large one near the surface of the skin. Warming the extremity, placing it lower than the rest of your body, and/or the use of a tourniquet might help you spot one if yours are hard-to-find. Personally I have found tourniquets hurt more than they help, so I would avoid using one unless you have to.

If the meth is in crystals, I like to heat to aid dissolving, and also, to sterilize...filter of course as normal (always filter, unless you have like lab grade stuff!). 29 gauge is fine also.
The high doesn't last long, maybe around 4 hours. The body high is pretty decent but honestly I don't find IVing meth to be the best route of administration. However, if you have never IVed meth, it's definitely worth doing it once, just to experience the unique rush (every drug has its unique rush).
In terms of amount, I find it takes a fair deal IVed to get me nice and high, usually couple of lines worth.
 
Heating for just a few seconds won't sterilize jack shit... you would want to boil it for ~10 minutes to do the job. Personally I always filter unless it's in a ampule already. :)

I've got to admit that I too have a thing for heating my drugs, weather it not it makes a difference I dont care, it's just a thing I have.
I realise that there a somethings that are BAD to add heat to so I dont then, but I hate the thought that soemone else has been handling my drugs so if theres a slight chance that its gets sterilized then cool.
