Just tried ethyphenidate (EPH) for the first time, and was surprised by its subtlety. Let me report what I did first, then I have a couple of questions.
Firstly, the drug was an impulse buy from a headshop; one of these annoying branded powders going under the name of "Ching". The ingredients list 50% EPH, and 10% lidocaine. I can only assume the remaining 40% is non-psychoactive filler, although I'm not sure if these RC brands are subject to the same requirements as other pharameuticals, in that every active ingredients must be listed.
After a small allergy test, decided to go the IV route, having heard nasty things about corrosion of mucal membranes. I should point out that it is no doubt poor practice to be injecting powders of which almost half the ingredients are unknown, and I certainly do not advocate anyone else doing this.
Having read up a bit, I decided on a 50mg dose of EPH, ie 100mg of the powder. Used sterilized water, clean needle, alcohol swabs, etc. The powder dissolved easily in water with no heating.
I rarely use needles, and had no problem finding a vein. Registered twice to be sure... Did not want any of this stuff hanging around under the skin.
Almost no rush, or indeed effect, except a lightening, focussed, calm, mild and pleasant stimulation. Heart rate up to 80bpm, no negative effects.
After a few minutes, repeated this dose in exactly the same way, with the result of simply increasing the same effects. Still no rush, but now definitely feeling stimmed, albeit still in a strangely calm way. No unwanted peripheral effects; pulse now up to 90-95bpm.
So here's my questions:
1. 100mg total EPH seems like a large IV dose for these subtle effects. Can anyone explain this?
2. The injection felt very clean and pain-free given how caustic this substance reputedly is: could this simply be the lidocaine?
3. Does anyone have any idea what the remaining 40% of "Ching" might comprise?
4.. More generally, are RC sellers allowed to include unlisted psychoactive ingredients in such products
