First off I want to say that I've heard numerous horror stories with regard to Fentanyl, dosages are incredibly hard to gauge, surface veins will collapse. Street price is usually astronomical (I'll get to that later) I also went through a kidney failure while I was in my peak using phase; the Dr.s Insist it had nothing to do with the fentanyl, I still have my doubts.
So, how did I start using fentanyl? Well, for one, my very understanding Dr. (you won't find a stronger proponent of harm reduction) was keeping me level with a script for OcyContin. She knew I'd be getting it from the street if I didn't get it from her, so she prescribed regular doses for over a year and a half. Then the government in my province began cracking down on the Oxy menace. Prescribing rules were changed so only those in extreme need merited the scripts. So she switched me to morphine. That too was short lasted. I was faced with methadone or going back to copping on the street, something I was singularly bad at. But, I happened to run into an old friend who ran an outdoor activity center. He wanted me to help out for a bit over the summer. While at his house, I found out his wife had scrips for Dilaudid and Fentanyl. I immediately told him I could sell the Dilaudid, and use the Fentanyl. I knew it was dangerous, but I felt like I had exhausted all my other options. (going back on methadone felt like defeat in the worst possible way. So, starting three and a half years ago, I shot apx 1 100mcg patch a day, until a brief interruption after the kidney failure, and for good six months ago when him and his wife had a child and no longer wanted to be in the drug supplying game. At this point, I am on methadone (60mgs) and trying to decide where to go next.
At this point I've gone six months without shooting anything, and its definitely affecting my mood. I'd like to move to something safer, but I've also never tried Heroin and would like to add that to my experiences.
