Opioids IV Dilaudid Sore Lump Injection Site, Please Help!

This is my first post here on bluelight after a long time lurking. I really love this forum, the numbers here are some of the most knowledge people online. I really could use some if that knowledge right now. Sunday night I injected a4mg dilly, and was petty sure I was in the vein as it registered no problem. I made it about half way through the shot and stated feeling the rush, so I know it was not a complete miss. After a pause halfway through,i pushed the second half of the shot in, and immediately felt a burning sensation followed by redness, and even a break out of hives at the injection site (crook of arm).

The pain subsided that night, but when I woke up in the morning, there was a lump at the site, and the lump was tender, but nit too sore. I woke up this morning, and the lump didn't get bigger, and the redness is almost completely gone, but the soreness is much worse today.

Is this something I should be going to seek medical advice for? Id be happy to take a picture and post it here if thathelps.

as i have turned a new leaf, i won't be a dick about this post but there are TONS of threads just like this



you injected pill particles into your body and thats what the lump is. there is no cause for immedaite medical attention. your body will most likely break down all of the foreign elements in time. if the spot becomes bigger, increases in pain or forms a white head at the injection site you most likely need to seek medical attention so you dont form an abcess.

you will most likely be fine.


i would ask a mod to close this though to avoid flaming.

this will probably get merged into the iv complication megathread. The redness, etc reaction was most likely a histamine reaction, and the lump is probably a missed shot (even if it was just bit)

however if you think you need medical attention, by all means, you need to seek medical attention.

I get this SAME reaction every time I shoot up dilaudid n(sans the lump, that happens when you miss), and I think you'll be alright but I'm not a doctor so use your own discretion

i NEVER get histamine reaction with dilaudid....now heroin is completely different. and for some reason i only get them when i hit my hand. that is a good sign of a good shot though.

I inject pills all the time, and it is a fact that certain pills cause worse histamine reactions (more than others.) which is EXACTLY what this sounds like, taken from someone who ACTUALLY knows about this cause I myself shoot up pills. I don't think that this is from injecting pill particles in the sense that you are talking about. I'm not saying your *wrong* just IMO I don't think that's the reason, obviously he injected pill particles into hisself, that isn't the issue.

Like I said, I get it every time I shoot dillies, but it doesn't bother me, cause i love them anyways. But different substances give different people different reactions, darlin.

you may not have meant any offesne but i would check stats before posting. not that i care to bring it up every post, or that im anywhere near proud of it but for the sake of arguement i have been injecting dilaudid and heroin for the better part of a decade. not to mention an active member of this forum and more specifically of this board since '04.

let me get a little more detailed here. he stated there is a lump at the injection site. THATS PILL PARTICLES. i didnt even touch on the histamine reaction which both you and I know is more of a raised skin hive then a lump (and not really cause for concern).

there are two issues here. one is the lump and one is the histamine reactions.

i get these fairly often it happens when you miss some of the shot i've never got medical attention cause they've always gone away after at least 2 weeks but it is possible to get an abscess form missing so be careful
