It's Not What You Know...

A little insight into Soviet samizdat (самиздат) musical distribution. Old X-ray plates were repurposed to allow them to be used to produce what approximates acetates i.e. sound quality drops after just a handful of plays BUT the entire point of samizdat was that listners (and readers and artists) ASKED people to reproduce their works. We live in a world where such technologies may be needed again. FYI I still favour CDR as it represents the LAST 'dumb media'. Yes, you CAN place viruses onto them (the infamous George Michael collection that bricked thousands of PCs) BUT as long as CD isn't the boot drive and you just copy the files, scope is limited. So do not assume memory sticks are secure.

I first heard Yamataka Eye in a Naked City album of my dad’s when I was a young kid. Hearing that when really young was a real influence to my musical taste later on.

I can’t listen to this album too much anymore, as I really associate it with my poppyseed days. Great music though.

You a fan of Les Rallizes Dénudés too?
They are the Japanese band that stole an Airplane & flew it to North Korea.

They sound like The Velvet Underground meets Sunn O))) on 2C-B.
