It's about time I made an account.. I have been lurking around bluelight for years and finally decided to join because of a particular thread I was reading through.

Anyway, a bit about myself, I am currently in recovery from long term opioid addiction, on probation, and basically just taking it one day at a time. I went to college and majored in exercise science (I want to be a physical therapist) however my addiction got in the way of that. It was while in college that I developed a love for learning about the effects different substances have on the mind and body. While I have experienced some things first hand, I am truly fascinated reading other people's experiences. I'm not really sure what else to say introduction-wise, but I'm excited to be here and hopefully make some friends along the way (I have a bit of social anxiety so friends in real life is sometimes a struggle) lol. So, if anyone wants to talk about anything I'm willing to listen! Thank you for reading! :)

Welcome to BL fuzzydoodle!

It's great when some of our lurkers do finally decide to join and start posting.

I'm glad you got your addiction under control and have found a subject area that interests you. We're all about harm reduction and trying to live healthily here on BL so I'm sure your background experience will be helpful to many.

Posting can seem a bit overwhelming to start with, especially if you have social anxiety, but keep at it and you'll eventually figure it all out. Don't forget, there's always the >edit< button if you ever think you've made a mistake.

Best of luck!

Thank you for the welcome! I love this website- it's my go-to anytime I have a question or just to see if anyone has had similar experiences to mine with different substances. I love the concept of harm reduction and it has helped me a lot dealing with withdrawal and other things. I wish politicians and others will get on board with making harm reduction more accessible to the masses. My state just now passed a law for needle exchanges this year!! However I have yet to find out if there is actually one set up in my area. It's progress I guess, but still moving too slowly for my liking.

That's great. Believe it or not, websites like BL and our promotion of harm reduction advice has served to inform the debate around safe drug use in the political sphere. So contributions by posters such as yourself do ultimately help to move things in the right direction. Change often starts out slow, but once it gets going, it often becomes unstoppable.

Wow! That's great, I didn't know that. That makes me have that much more respect for this websites and the people who contribute to it. Hopefully one day ill be able to help someone even if it's just listening to them so they don't feel so alone. :)
