"It smokes real good"

Stoners are always saying this cliche. What exactly does this (the title) mean? Does it mean that the bud produces a nice smoke that is tasty and/or smooth, or does it mean that the actual high is nice?
 
im not sure what it means to everyone but to me it means that: not harsh/rough smoke, doesnt taste bad, not as much cottonmouth, and is just generally fun to smoke just for the sake of smoking.
 
"it smokes real good" and its "smokin" are two diff things to me

1st one - pretty sure every means to say its a smooth smoke/taste good (curing was done right)
2nd one - slang for it being "fire" or of higher quality

You got it right.
 
I say it smokes real good both to comment on quality of hit (smoothness/lack of unpleasant airway response) and quality of weed ( taste/immediate effects felt on a hit, if the shit is real dank and i feel my eyes start to sweat a little right after I hit it I know it's real good ), just depends on the situation
 
If I say it smokes really nice, I mean it tastes great and goes down smooth, which usually is attributable to a great high...

They don't necessarily go hand and hand, but they often do.
 
Just depends on the area/person. My mids dealer likes to claim his new batches "smokes like dro" from time to time. i dont give a fuck what it means so long as the bud is nice. lol
 
To me it just means it's really good bud that's gonna get me super stoned.
 
i guess it would mean that it's not harsh to smoke. but i think a lot of people say it for small talk :p
 
i've never heard anyone say "it smokes good." around here we tend to get a lot more descriptive with our.. um.... descriptions... of how the weed "smokes."
 
Ok. It seems the overall consensus is that

"smokes good" = pleasant to smoke

This makes sense as I once heard my dealer say "this one is my favorite, but this other one smokes real good," which would indicate one having a nice high and the other being a good smoke.
 
just an expression as to the quality of the weed...

for example: "It smokes good," means the weed is good or great or not shitty.
 
I've only ever heard it being used to hype up not so great looking weed, so someone might say it smokes well to imply that it'll still get you stoned as fuck even though it doesn't look extremely dank.
 
I'd use that phrase when describing the way the weed is burning or how it hits. Like when you roll a nice blunt and it hits perfectly, burns slow, and the smoke is just really pleasant.

I always think it just means "this isn't too rough, tastes okay, won't make you cough up a lung." But generally I don't give much credence to "stoner-talk" about bud, everybody has such different expectations of what "good weed" is that it could mean anything from "goes down like a milkshake" to "doesn't taste like a bum's bumhole". :)
 
relates to flavor and mouth appeal of the buds while you smoke them. Buds can smoke nice and not get you high.< that is rare.
