Just a little background first - My girlfriend and i recently moved away from New Jersey to live with her aunt just outside chicago, we completed 5 week outpatient rehab programs, and on the 15th it will be 60 days sober for the both of us. My girlfriend is prescribed Gabapentin clonidine and welbutrin, i am tapering down my suboxone dose, started at 12mgs 18 months ago and i am down to 1mg/day probably cutting down to 1/2mg daily within the week. I am also prescribed gabapentin and clonidine for withdrawal and sleep - although neither of us takes the clonidine daily. Only when we need it.
Ok, so the issue is that recently both of us have started talking in our sleep, a lot. It is all complete nonsense; If i say something and she responds to it, i will respond as if i am awake and say something back. Same for her when she is talking in her sleep and i say something to her. Last night i was awake trying to fall asleep - its hard with the 24/7 withdrawal from tapering my suboxone - anyway, she said some weird shit, i didn't understand so i said what? she responded some nonsense and i rolled over. But midway from rolling she grabbed me and pulled me back around and pointed over towards a wall and rambled some shit about a train and having to give the guy more money, i was like what? where? and she kept pointed and saying Right there! over there! Wait - Its gone! its not there anymore! but he still needs more money! Then immediatly laid back down asleep and silent as if nothing happened.
It kindof freaked me out, and she was totally sleeping. Not aware of any of it. She wrote down some shit i was rambling to her about her dad being a "fish trainer" which he isn't and makes no sense anyway. Then i would laugh really absurdly and instantly go silent again.
Is this normal? Perhaps our brains adjusting to sleeping sober with out drugs in our system? For me i have fallen asleep after doing various drugs for almost 3 years, for her about 2 years. Is this normal? Should we see a sleep specialist?
