Right, that's why they dropped leaflets, sent texts, made calls, ordered evacuations, provided safety corridors, etc. Hamas killings on 7 Oct was an act of war. Can you think of any other country that has gone out of its way to warn and evacuate civilians living in the "country" who attacked them?

There will be a rebuilding effort. Once the terrorists are gone and security is reestablished , humanitarian assistance will pour in. Then hopefully a long lasting peace agreement can be arranged.

Horrific for all those involved, but Hamas continuing to wreak havoc and dragging everyone down with them would've been far worse no?

I agree, but what do you expect Israel to do when faced with a group of religious extremists who constantly talk about their aim of eradicating their entire nation and then take actions to do so? Why is it that Israel alone cannot respond to that?

Israel were attacked brutally. The UN couldnt condemn that. Israel respond. The UN do condemn that. To be clear, the UN couldn't even pass a resolution condemning Hamas.

If anyone truly wanted peace in the region, they would see that it is not going to happen while a group of religious fanatics gets to call the shots. But instead, it's all about what the Jews are doing.

I don't agree with this paternalistic attitude. In truth, I think the west should have nothing to do with these Islamic countries. We should neither intervene militarily nor offer aid and sanctuary to people who generally hate us. It should be up to the people in those nations to fix their extremely backwards cultures. But they are unable to do this while adhering to their relgion, instead constantly reach into the developed world with violence and relgiously motivated hatred.

Islam is a death cult and the West will almost certainly be at war with it until it reforms.

Re: antisemitism. In the west, we no longer tolerate hatred based on religion, or race and rightly so. But the ever morphing antisemitism has persisted for centuries. The Jews have been hated for every possible reasons. For their religion, for being insular, for integrating and 'taking over' society, for being poor and for being rich. They were hated when they were stateless, they are now hated for having a state.

If Hamas won this conflict, the Jews of Israel would be slaughtered. If you do not support that and see that as a bit of a problem, you may think differently about this conflict.

The intent and impact is even more disconnected as one group wants civilian casualties to trigger a military overreaction that can be used to gather sympathy and support on a global stage.

Basically, one team is trying to get the other team to hurt them so they can blame the other team. And that team is led by leaders who live far away in luxury.

Either way, if you know what is meant by Intifada, you'll know the chanting ideologue is not talking about just tickling the Jews.

I fondly remember 1990s TV with celebrities caring so much about getting average Americans to care enough about Africa to send them a few bucks a month.

I am so glad they did that are there is no more hunger or poverty in Africa.
 
That youtuber Mr. Beast just got criticized for going over there and building wells so 500k Africans have clean water. Some activist group that exists to get funding for wells got mad and people said it made the government look bad. I think a lot of them are just mad that capitalism fixed a problem

Probably the same % of funds donate to Palestine go to the poor people of Gaza, after you spend it all on weapons and luxury apartments in Turkey and Qatar for the leaders...
