Israel is under attack

So why is the average age of the Palestinian 18?
Why do you think this is the case?

You may want to say "genocide", but Gaza has the 39th highest population growth rate in the world. Over the last 20 years, the population has effectively doubled.

It's pretty likely that the average age is so low because there are lots and lots of children.

Hmm

This conflict to me seems to benefit the leaders of both Israel and Hamas

In regards to Israel, the Israeli government was rocked by some civil unrest earlier this year that was quite serious. Netanyahu and his government have been “troubled” recently. One way that Netanyahu can shore up support is by putting the country on a war footing

For Hamas, they had to have known how severe the backlash was gonna be after doing something like that massacre. But maybe they felt like the more indiscriminate and more severe the response was on Israel’s part, the better…it thrusts an issue that has largely absent from the public mind lately (Israel/Palestine question) back into the discourse (I’m amazed by how many people I’ve seen online suddenly feel passionately about this, how many international demonstrations there have been etc), including pressuring Arab leaders to distance themselves from Israel (because they had been more towards a policy of accommodation w/ Israel in recent history)

I haven’t been following the developments super closely but that’s just what I was thinking earlier today

Israel striking indiscriminately isn't new, its been going on for a long time. The article in posted from 2021 outlines some of it

Yea man all those doctors and health administrators are hardcore military Hamas members

you seriously either never read a single post of mine or you're a troll

It has been stated many times in this thread that any source cited as "Palestinian Health Officials " etc might as well say "Hamas". The causality numbers are part of their propaganda operation.

THEY HAVE UNDERGROUND BASES UNDERNEATH AND INSIDE HOSPITALS

You seriously think they don't control those statistics?

Remember when they said 500 people died in the hospital that was NEVER HIT
except by one of their own rockets that went into the parking lot

that was those same health officials

No that's just your assumption based on your bias. We can easily say that the Israeli numbers are just as fudged. That's even before mentioning that many of those numbers have been checked by outsiders as well

You just want those numbers to be wrong because it confirms your bias that Israel good Palestine bad. Nobody has cited a single source outlining faking of death numbers

Israel seems to bomb residential areas an awful lot

Your friends, Hamas, seem to hide in residential areas a lot.

It's not "Palestine", it's Hamas. You just cannot admit that maybe the terrorists are lying. Antizionism, right? Hmm.

You cannot seem to admit that the proportion of deaths is greater on the Palestine side, you have no evidence for those numbers being fabricated besides your own bias

Americans killed more Afghani including innocents and Taliban/AQ than Americans died in 9/11

BUT THAT DOES NOT JUSTIFY THE TERRORISM OF 9/11 WHICH precipitated THE WAR IN Afghanistan.

Yes, more Palestinians died after they attacked Israeli civilians and got shot and bombed by a superior military force that did cause collateral civilian damage because Hamas uses civilians as human shields for valid targets.

I'm sure it is greater on the Palestinian side. Not doubting that. It has to be- Hamas use residential areas as bases and strongholds and have both told citizens to not leave AND erected roadblocks to actively prevent them leaving- and no matter how surgical and precise Israel are, how much warning they give, and how much they exhort the population to leave, it is inevitable that civilians will definitely be killed by Israel. This is a disaster of huge scale for citizens of Gaza.

But given how much Hamas benefit from their citizens deaths, in terms of propaganda- do you doubt that they are motivated to inflate the numbers? It doesn't benefit Israel in the slightest to kill civilians. Well meaning progressives are already against them. They only lose when they kill civilians. Hamas gains. Hamas are ideologically driven members of a death cult who have been futilely smashing their people against Israel for decades- do you think they can really be trusted?

Fwiw, I also don't trust what Israel say about civlian deaths. Israel is highly motivated to downplay civilian casualties because the more civilian casualties there are, the more the world turns against them. But I certainly trust Israel more than I do the members of an Islamic death cult.

Palestinians have been dying in droves for years. Here's the chart again
