Jews and Palestinians are both genetically descendants of the Canaanite people. Still researching but it seems both groups have DNA indicating relation to the indigenous peoples of the region from thousands of years ago.

Some sources are saying Palestinians actually have a closer relation to the ancient indigenous peoples of the region, since many Jews have European blood due to the diaspora.

So you think people would martyr themselves and fight over dirt if they knew their religion was bullshit?

Hey man, we don't have to agree on stuff. I just hate war, and those who are keen to have it funded, those at the top who manipulate and lie.

We all have a self derived righteousness in this game in here. At least we all express and defend our beliefs. x <3

Edit: quoted wrong post but I'm on my phone and you'll get it.

womp womp, that's an equivocation fallacy. different usage of the word "state", and a deflection of the essence of the conversation.

Shifting definitions yet again? what else will you want to redefine. Considering recent social developments I think we already know the answer... Everything is up for you to redefine in order to deconstruct society.

Good luck with that ...

You think the US and soviet union are equal in terms of similarity to a proposed forced union between fighting nations?

Lots of evil atrocious acts on both sides. I'm not sure which side is worse than the other, I just know that they both are failing the Golden Rule.
I know what you mean, there is a lot nuance to this conflict... unlike the Ukraine war

Now your acting like a liberal, I don’t talk to those anymore

That sounds like a great way to stay out of the echo chamber :/

Thinking I'm going to give up debating this shit online. Everyone has already made up their minds. Some say that they're okay with innocent civilians dying in the name of righteousness, others say that isn't okay, and somehow the people against the deaths of the innocent are considered the bad guys. If no one has changed their mind yet they're not going to. And it stresses me the hell out.
I get you, and I'm sorry that it stresses you out. I certainly don't think you're a bad guy, I just think you're wrong on this...as you think I'm wrong. Fwiw, I've actually found your posts to be incredibly reasonable and have given me food for thought- I haven't changed my mind as such, but I appreciate the nuance you have brought to this. ❤️

Anyone who thinks religion is going to go away is a fool. This website maybe a haven for atheists and agnostics but the middle east is the exact opposite. Islam is growing and so is the radicalization of its followers. Muslims are not going to give up their beliefs, neither are real Christians and real Jews. This little haven of religion haters does not reflect the reality that Islam is growing and becoming more militant. Keep showing the same moderate Muslims on tv. They are the minority, and trying to turn people against their beliefs is draconian, evil and will only reinforce and radicalize them more. What if somebody tried to force you unbelievers to believe in whatever religion they believed in. Try forcing people not to be believe and it's going to be grounds for a true holy war. This idea of attacking beliefs only strengthens the true believers. All you religion haters have no idea how powerful religion is, and all you who attack believers are bigots. My religious beliefs are stronger than any racial, political or national identity. The same holds true for most Muslims, however, just like Christianity, Islam has sharp divides, but when push comes to shove, it will be a true holy war.
My point is that you who try to be dismissive of religion have no concept of the reality of how strong these beliefs can be, and attacking them does nothing but cause increased radicalization. True Muslims. Christians and religious Jews are not going to shamed, persecuted or talked out of their beliefs. It's true many people leave cults, but many find other religious beliefs and only a minority give up on religion a together.
When the build up to the six day war was going on, what galvanized all the countries against Isreal? Islam. I believe, Push them into the sea was the war cry. They were united in hate. A few years later the Yom Kippur War( or The War in October).
You are never going to attack religious beliefs to achieve peace, you can only fight the extremists.

Getting off topic, but if everyone who calls themselves Christian actually acted the way Christ wants us to, there would be no problems with the religion. All the evil done in Christ's name is not at all what he wanted. Many, many "devout Christians" are gonna be upset on Judgement Day when they're left behind and the real Christians ascend along with the virtuous atheists.

The Ukraine war is just 2 fascist countries fighting each other. Hopefully they will both lose big time.

The Israeli and Palestine conflict is a wee bit different as you have Israel behaving like nazis

redefine? (and let's leave the implied bigotry and the strawmanning at the door and the dive).... nobody is redefining. i know you know this (i hope you do), but words often (maybe even the majority of the time) have more than one definition.

there are the "states" of the federal system of the "united states", and there is the definition of state where it's referring to a whole country/ the government of a nation (like how the president is "head of state"). i think you're being deliberately obtuse here.

You think the US and soviet union are equal in terms of similarity to a proposed forced union between fighting nations?
when did i even slightly imply that? if we are simply talking about unifying previously separated autonomous regions, colonies, or countries (etc.) then the u.s.s.r. is NOT the only choice; and so your original point of making my mention of a one- state solution look silly (if that is what you meant) or unreasonable is kinda... sorta... like fallacious.

moderate Muslims ... are the minority
not in the u.s. (i know this is about the middle east, i'm just saying)

all you who attack believers are bigots
lol wait what? bigots? wdym by "attack" cause if you mean criticizing bad ideas held by humans, then it is NOT bigotry in the slightest. quite the opposite, when many of us criticize religion, it is out of respect for humans in general. wwjd, golden rule and all that... i thrive when ppl can criticize me (constructively and accurately) and therefore i extend that same concept to others.
