It's not just Mexicans, it's all kinds of aliens illegally crossing the border. You'd start reeeeing if they started showing up in your neighborhood. Just like democrats are currently. You do realize that I'm from Texas and have a much better understanding of illegal Mexican immigrants than you do, right? Tambien hablo espanol y tenies bueno amigos que eran ilegales.
But go ahead and keep pretending you know the situation better than I do. I literally lived there for 25+ years. Keep watching Fox News. There is no "migrant crisis" at our southern border. That's fake news. Illegal immigrant levels are the exact same as they were 20+ years ago.
Oh really? Where did you get that information from? Just curious. It's not just Mexicans, it's all kinds of aliens illegally crossing the border.

It"s ppl from all over the world that are coming< theyhave norightOh really? Where did you get that information from? Just curious.
Bro I just told you I lived next to the border for a lot of my life. I SAW them. I TALKED to them. I smoked drugs with them.
I was not reeeeeeing.
You really have no idea what you're talking about to be honest.
It's not Islamophobic to make factual statements about a group of people. Criticizing Islam does not constitute Islamophobia, either. That's an opinion. Islamophobia would require discrimination, persecution, hate speach and/or violence.
Is it Islamophobic to say Muslims are homophobic?

I asked if you were a Marxist specifically because the 'food/cuisine' as a pro-immigration argument was the exact same nonsense spouted by Tony Blair's cultural revolutionary idiots back in the 90's. It was always trotted out whenever anyone raised doubts and concerns about immigration policy in an attempt to stifle discussion. He asks after requesting I not shoehorn him. You're painting with such a broad brush now that I've found myself lost in a Lowe's hardware store.
Which is why I will ask you again now, are you a Marxist?I recognize that different cultures think differently. I guess I just grew up with this radical idea that different people can figure these differences out over time through basic tolerance of each other and cooperation, which has been the defining case for the thousands of years of human evolution that brought us to this moment.
I was making a dry comedy, bland food British joke to try and lighten up a bit. Sorry that didn't land.I asked if you were a Marxist specifically because the 'food/cuisine' as a pro-immigration argument was the exact same nonsense spouted by Tony Blair's cultural revolutionary idiots back in the 90's. It was always trotted out whenever anyone raised doubts and concerns about immigration policy in an attempt to stifle discussion.
You didn't bother to ask me if I was a Conservative, you just projected that assumption on to what I was saying.
Which is why I will ask you again now, are you a Marxist?
You have to be subscribed to some phoney ideology to maintain such a belief; we have demonstrable proof now that this Pollyanna thinking does not play out in reality. Look at Sweden for fucks sake. There are people who do not subscribe to your belief and who hold a different belief, the belief of "I don't give a fuck about your culture, and you will accept mine [Islam] instead".
It's great you believe we can all live together in diversity, but simultaneously insulting at the same time because you don't actually respect the fact there is diversity within the psychologies of different groups.
Thirty years ago you could stake such a belief and denounce people like me as racist, xenophobic or whatever, and do so successfully in fact. But reality has played out now, and both your belief and pleas to emotion are now falling on deaf ears.
because you've already told me what your point was, MONTHS ago... and it was a terrible point and a red herring. And you still didn't answer.
this is such a bad point... firstly, are the PROTESTS themselves hyper violent? or antisemitic? (no, the answer is obviously no)1960s -> left embraces non-violent protests for racial equality and to exit Vietnam
1990s -> left embraces non-violent protests for gay rights and to save the trees
2020s -> left embraces hyper-violent far right antisemitic jihadist culture to defend people living 6000 miles who would lynch them for being gay if they ever met
I've read that, as has pretty much any child brought up in Americas school system. Orwell was a radical who actually went to battle nationalists in the Spanish civil war... He wasn't some preening neoliberal, he actually had a nuanced understanding of capitalism/socialism... Unlike the countless others who misinterpret his works. He was actually a fairly badass guy so of course I've read his work, like I've read many other timeless political authors. Y'all probably all ought to read Imperialism, Capital, or What is Property at some point. All of these works massively inform and predicted the current state of the world. But I know it's a lot harder to read primary political theory than it is to blindly repeat criticisms of the left that were already addressed 150 years ago.
