Is tolerance to mdma a symptom of low serotonin?

150mg use to be my peak dose, and now 150mg is pretty subtle, i need more in the 190-200mg range to be where i want.. Ive done mdma like 15 times and try to keep atleast a month break, i took a 3 month break once though and didnt see much difference in both tolerance and the intensity of the roll.. Just wondering if this is because i have lower serotonin levels to access than when i first started using mdma? And YES i test my drugs and buy from top tier sources :)

Are you experiencing any increase in sideeffect? If not, it could just as well be lower quality product (even though it's tested). Have you tested your products purity?

It could easily be a different reason, but mdma seems to have a limit on how long the magic will last. I recall reading somewhere on BL that Shulgin himself thought the same, but he doesn't know (and also no one knows) as to what the true cause may be. I think he had some educated guesses, but I forgot what they were. =D

I knew from my own extensive experience that there seems to be a "natural" tolerance built up even if you don't use it for years, as what you are describing happened to me in a similar way. ~100mg hit me way harder than it should have on my first time, whereas ~400mg only gives me a decent roll now (but no peak/magic). I wish there were factual answers to this too, since that could lead to possible cures/solutions.

To go on from your thoughts, it may be possible that serotonin levels are naturally a bit lower, or the release of serotonin after taking mdma is a lot less than before, or the receptors got burned out, etc. eg. I have no clue. But something had to have happened though. :)

like many things, once you have become somewhat accustomed the novelty begins to wear off. just food for thought. :)

Indeed, and I think mdma's novelty wears off more so than other substances.

For example, having taken lsd and miprocin multiple times, neither seems to have dropped off as substantially as mdma. It's actually negligible compared to mdma, at least effects wise.

But you're right, the sheer novelty of it is a factor. I just find it weird that, out of my group that abused it in a similar way as I have, they haven't lost the magic but I'm the one that did. Thus my amateur hypothesis. =D
