I have had an extremely shitty summer with work and have been putting in 80 hours a week seven days a week for the past two and a half months.

About 40 days ago, I got a hold of some dexadrine and addys and have been popping anywhere from 5-20mg a day, total, to get me through the work day. I quit taking them yesterday just because they were not helping as much and I do not want to rely on them and I want to overcome any withdrawal by monday.

Today I have felt like shit. Groggy, foggy and a bit depressed. Do you think this is withdrawal or am I just burned out? It's not terrible but it is affecting my work. I have one more week until I go on vacation but I REALLY need to be on my game next week.

Opinions/advice?

There aren't real "withdrawals" from stimulants. What you're experiencing could be rebound effects which are a lot more minor than actual withdrawals from a psychical dependency and shouldn't last long.

Thanks for the replies.

I haven't had any "cravings" per se. I felt like absolute balls this morning but now I feel fine mentally. I think the stims might have a little to do with it but the majority of it is just being exhausted.

Cheers,

Abrupt cessation of daily amphetamine use results in those symptoms, so what you're experiencing is typical and perfectly normal. Give it a few days, during which you should eat well (nutritious foods), exercise, and get quality sleep.

The supplements l-tyrosine and 5-htp can help tremendously as well, as they essentially replenish catecholamine and serotonin levels, respectively. Ginko biloba is also useful.

Its like quitting caffeine but scaled up a little bit. You kept your dosage fairly lowyou should feel better after a few days. Eat and drink more water than normal and don't skip on any sleep, you'll recover much quicker
