Okay, forgive me, I couldn't think of a better subject line...
My cousin tried MDMA today, and decided to start with an absolutely pansy dose because he's had panic attacks on other drugs and is a touch anxious when it comes to altering his mental state. So he took 60mg (don't laugh, he's the quintessential harm-reduction poster-child :D), and he started to feel really energetic and happy. Nothing too intense, and it was really enjoyable! Then, all of a sudden, something hit him and he was like "whoa, NOW I'm feeling it." It was definitely a rush and a half and was more than a touch too intense for him. It reminded him of smoking weed when all of a sudden you turn and say "Dude, NOW I'm high!" Almost like the come-on of a trip. I'm guessing this was the famed serotonin rush? Anyway, it lasted no more than maybe 30-60 seconds, and then he returned to a really nice state. Nothing too intense, just a lot of energy and happiness.
So my question is: if my cousin took MORE than his pansy dose of 60mg, would that "rush" feeling LAST the entire time? As in, is that crazy feeling the normal feeling one can expect from MDMA? It just felt too intense for my cousin. He said his vision was getting a little distorted and he felt really uncomfortable and not sober. So I guess I'm wondering if the "rush" is always temporary (as in, you will always feel this rush, but will come down to this nice, giddy state), or if that IS the point of MDMA. Because my cousin wants more good feelings (and so wants to increase his dose), but if all he can expect is a prolonged crazy rush, he doesn't know if MDMA is right for him.
I hope that describes it right! It's so ineffable, but I think users know what I mean when I talk about the "WHOA, now I'm high!" feeling that just messes with your perception. My cousin doesn't like perceptual changes, so he can handle the come-on if it is only a couple of minutes, but doesn't want to do MDMA if the WHOLE trip is like that.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
