Is this truly a new bupe treatment protocol?

So they mention at the end that:
"She tried to quit a few years ago by starting buprenorphine. But it made her feel terrible.

Back then, injectable buprenorphine was only available in large, monthly doses. Taking that amount all at once could make someone addicted to fentanyl feel unbearably sick'
This doesn't make much sense to me cause isnt the depot injection theyre talking about here literally the exact same thing as what they're hailing as new technology; from years ago.

It looks like theyre just using injectable bupe to do the bernase method or whatever you wanna call it. Makes more sense to me, have the injection where the bupe levels can slowly rise and coat receptors while you still use. Doing it the traditional way with strips can be such a pain in the ass. It can be really time consuming and fucky to get right.
