hey guys, i have a question. my mouth recently became fairly sore for no apparent reason. i smoke usually once or twice a day in the evenings, sometimes skipping days or weeks. however, i also take adderall for ADHD. these two combined can (and often do) give me severe cotton mouth, which is not alleviated by simply drinking water. upon closer inspection of my mouth (the area underneath my tongue and the base of my gums in that area), i found what appear to be several little cold sores. they are sort of yellow/brown and i have never seen them before (although i never really looked that close). is this caused by the cottonmouth, the fact that i was (and still sort of am) sick, or is it something more serious?

drink more water - it's almost certainly cottonmouth. Stimulants can cause their irrationation, dryness, and clenching of teeth throughout the night and day that would all lead to this. Smoking is an irritation, it is not making your mouth any more dry or comfortable.

^ the adderall is probably causing this. try drinking some powerade, or some sport drink (not energy) to rehydrate properly.

So these sores you are getting....are you talking about canker sores? they are mouth ulcers....they form on the gums or under the tongue or on the inside of your lip like this:

canker sores hurt like a bitch and develop slowly. I have gotten these all my life....i dont think it would be related to pot...but i dont know if this is what you are talking about. Your rather vague about the discription...

But i will say that yes the combo of adderall and smoking will defffff give you the worlds worst cotton mouth. Thing is when your taking adderall you need to be drinking water ALL THE TIME! Dont let yourself get cotton mouth, and if your smoking weed you def need to have some nice ice water to drink while you smoke. And I dont mean just a sip here and there. Your mouth is dry because it lacks the internal moisture it needs to produce saliva. Adderall dehydrates you fast and you often dont notice it because your focused on what ever.

I have gone to bed many a times with my tongue and mouth feeling raw and sore from the combo of dry mouth and then the exposure to the heated smoke over and over. If you chain smoke cigarettes like I sometimes do on addy then it will be worse.

Just drink lost of water before, during and after you smoke and take adderall.

ok good to know thank you all. neko, that is EXACTLY what is happening, but i dont smoke many cigs, just here and there. they arent addictive for me at all, ive been a casual smoker of cigs (off and on, typically once every few days with friends), but i smoke a decent amount of weed, and it started happening after the quality of the bud dropped. now its just pretty good mids instead of some ultradank med schwag... that was some fuzzy bud lol. sorry, reminiscing. yeah i drink water often when i take the adderall, i take 40mg ir in the morning for school and it lasts all day so when i get home and smoke i have reaaaaallllyyyy bad cotton mouth. i did a little research to confirm, and yeah these are exactly what im getting. good to know i dont have cancer... freaked out for a bit last night when i saw em, then blazed and forgot they were there lol. sorry if this post is kinda disorganized, im kinda baked right now...

also i now have a gallon jug made for water which i just fill with cold water... helps a lot. kinda heavy tho, not easy to carry around...
